Dear Kris,
I just wanted to let you know that you
got it all wrong. There
was no 4th child, no twin. Those
were the people down the
street. Nothing to
do with our
family. Hope this
helps

I think I want to hear the whole story. A tantalizing poem.
I only wish I could get letters like this from my long departed grandparents, filling me in, straightening me out. I try my best, but how can I be sure?
Wonderful! So captures a kids way of seeing, and the simple re-direction that can be so very different.
Or of a family historian trying to piece the truth together through records a hundred years old.
Often I have wished for such a letter from one who was there but long since dead.
Questions not asked until it is too late. Perhaps, we are hard-wired not to get too much information about our families. Lovely poem.
I don’t think so. I think it’s because by the time we want to know more, it’s late and sometimes those who have the information have already died. I have found lots and lots of information about my family. I just waited too long so have to piece it together without first person input from my grandparents.
