Alice had Wonderland
Dorothy ended up in Oz
Wendy escaped to Neverland
Yet they all decided to come back
Those magically, mysterious, marvelous worlds
Could not contain them
None of these lands could persuade them to abandon this world of reality
I wonder if they would feel the same today
I wonder if when they grew up to become women if they had regrets
Knowing what I know of this world and fantasy
I’d choose the magic, the mystery, the marvel over the mundane
Those first four lines are incredible! You fully hooked me into the poem. I love the way it grows from there – the questions it raises are wonderful. A terrific poem!

Very crafty. I love how you take the reader with you on this journey and end with an exciting and insightful twist. As a child I used to sit at my window and wait for Peter Pan to take me away, so I definitely identify with this poem. Thank you.
