The Sun Is Also A Star

As the ultra-violet rays caress your chocolate skin,
I find myself melting in the dilution of sunshine and caramel.
Blinded by this star that shines 152.08 million km from your face.
But still, I stand in awe as you seem to rise to the skyline,
Have the sun’s arms pick you up and have your face near its lips as,
The Sun plants its lips on your body and uses you as a reflective surface,
None of that mythological folklore,
No Edward Cullen or twilight romance.
Rather the perfect story to fit the breaking dawn arc.
As the waking that is you meet the Sun at sunrise,
As if synchronized under theatre light.
The sun rises and sets in your eyes,
And each time is as beautiful as the last.
Your sunkissed body is a diamond.
As the sun dances over our skin,
We find love in the dark,
As we soak in as much warmth as our bodies can withstand.
Illuminate our hidden truths and burn down the last of our insecurities.
The Sun is also a star,
It shines brighter than a sky turned off at midnight,
And lit up but by starlight.

Hour 20, Burnt

Burnt

Bring to the light
at lightning speed
the candle that burns
at both ends.

After all, you can’t hold a candle
to the cold light of day
so come on baby, light my fire,
for it’s dark before the dawn.

Go out like a light
in the half light,
don’t hide your light under a bushel.

In broad daylight,
the clear light of day,
let there be light
like a candle in the wind.

Don’t rage, rage against the dying of the light,
rather, dance by the light of the moon.

Travel light,
like a trick of the light,
and trip the light fantastic.

All will come to light,
as you light up my life,
all sweetness and light
is you.

Hour 20: The Little Match Girl

Ragged child holds a match close to her chest
when it blinks out she lights another
each match is warmer, she is sure
there in the light the match girl sees
all the help she needs
so she follows the outreaching hand

Hour 19-So much Unknown

Us human race we think we have the might

We don’t

We are not equipped to take on the fight.

We think we are the only living beings

We aren’t

More and more we hear of observing other seeings.

You think our sun is big, have you seen UY Scuti?

How come we never knew about this colossal beauty?

Then there’s man made creatures, robots and then clones

With powers to consume us and spying air-born drones.

We are ants to something bigger, uncertain of their might

Fellow humans stay alert it could take us in the night

Light of my Life

Prompt 20 (Half Marathon 2 Hour 8)

I look outside and I see pitch black
But inside, my office is on a metaphorical fire
Keys clicking, screen shining bright
Not just mine, but his too
“Side!” I say
We peer over our monitors
Eye contact and a smile
Back to our clicking keyboards
And screens shining bright
Frantically working
Expressing our individuality, but in sync

I look outside and I see pitch black
Inside, electricity makes sure I can see
But there’s something else filling me with light

02:00p.m Mother’s unsaid farewell

Like waitress she served the tables for her married brother’s friends,

not changing dirty dress and not washing hands,

like Cinderella she run errands a big family (and all guests)

that hardy oversaw the exit under unrest.

In the late phase of wedding her mum was standing in the door

with empty look silently saying “farewell” and no more;

the children treated always like hungry pups

now turned into barking dogs who packed their rugs.

SEVEN LIGHT BLESSING – Hour 20

SEVEN LIGHT BLESSING
A “Reiki Ideals” Healing Poem

Sit. Relaxed.

Feet on the floor.

Back straight.

Chin level.

Breathe.

Check in with your breath.

Your breath is another kind of pulse

By which you can check the quality of your life.

Self-Cyphadeen laid it down like this:

Deep, slow, loving breaths? Deep, slow, loving life.

Fast, shallow breaths? Fast, shallow life.

there are seven lights inside you

the colors of the rainbow illuminate your aura

see them now

the misė en place of your energy body

Red on your tailbone

Orange in your navel

Yellow from your solar plexus

Green within your heart

Blue from your throat

Purple in your forehead

Violet resting on your head

there are seven lights inside you

colors of the rainbow

illuminating your aura

see them now

as we stir and awaken

from root to crown

the holy lights within you

and repeat these words as I do:

Just for today, do not worry

Just for today, do not be angry

Just for today, be filled with gratitude

Just for today, be humble

Just for today, be honest in your words and in your work

Just for today, see the best selves in your neighbors

Just for today, remember we are all connected.

Just for today. Just for today.
Tomorrow we are free to try again.

there are seven lights inside you

Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Purple Violet

the colors of the rainbow illuminate your aura

see them now

feel them now

Just for now

Just for today

then tomorrow, try again

Prompt 20: After the Summons

Morning was dark and rainy and I brewed
a pot meant to rouse words from my mind,
and the first lines came from a Covid-weird
summons we had been served and forced us to find
one light saber-welding agent of good –
they had to exist; not all were damn fiends –
and so our days were feverishly fueled
between tears and calm, neither a relief.
The legal clouds broke just a day ago,
when our legal Skywalker sent the word
the case had been dropped. Ron’s sudden whoa!
was as an actor, reverberated.
Life is back to the quarantine surreal.
And there’s nothing others won’t try to steal.

(I had a different take on use of light as a theme, but we’re still ecstatic about our luck.)

Light In Darkness (hour 20, prompt 20)

Star light, star bright
A million tiny points of light
Scattered ‘cross a velvet sky
Like a jewelry store just seen at night
There’s light in every darkness
If one just looks to see
I know a thing or 12 about this
Because there’s a moon inside of me.

Prompt 20, Hour 20 – Flicker

Streetlights flicker,

and pierce through the drowsy fog

awakened with the earliest morning sky.

Small bulbs, they crown the street view ever so gently,

and leave the senses to lounge in dawn’s magic.

Songbirds join the moment, overjoyed for the day to come.

I receive the gift, grateful and dumbfounded.

How many mornings, have I missed this enchantment?
