Symbols or signs

Reaching out to the far,
searching secret combinations must surly
unlock some concealed affections,
yet scorn springs from unending upturned wells,
Human legs destructive in bird nest incubator,
Writing intended perpetually for all time,
now washed by each dismissive scroll.
Muted against those adored with cardiac hieroglyphics.
Another bother, conveyor belt communication,
Words of devotion dashed by a short curt retort,
Cavernous ventricles fail at notification denied,
Iranian execution style slow strangling replies,
Hours dangling – callous in neglects disdain.
Words only on demand, that toy should remain boxed.
Catch those two little birds my love,
Only write to show your dedication to me,
& the only dedication I demand is silence.
Peering squints yet lines still empty,
Chided for basking that shown in plain sight.
Accept and enjoy a game as predestined loser,
mark away cultivating symbolic obscurity in safety.

Hour 8 (2020)

little pictographs on a screen

packaging meaning into its most miniscule form.

why complicate things?

there is humour in the obliterating meaning with the intent to simplify it

fast food conversations that go stale

or maybe communication is asking too much of them

for expecting meaning sacrifices whimsicality.

Emo

Do not mess with me
I am an emotional mess
Disappointed by the world
by the people I love
I will find a way
I will prevail
I will fight a new day

Prompt 8: Exhaustion

I get off the bus, and I’m surrounded by jokers

It’s like a bad action film took over the nation,
being directed by clowns
And now I have to search for the right emojs to
match my feeling like an alien from another world
so surreal is the country I live in, and am not sure
I want to die in.
Once this circus is over,
maybe we can return to civility, and leave the disaster movies
to Hollywood.

Recipe for Starting Over

1 Courageous HeartΒ (Do not confuse this with bravery. Bravery is for the fearless. Courage is pulled from the depths of the afraid).

2 Boarding Passes (One for the first part of the journey; one for exiting the layover).

3 Keys (One for the gate, one for the mail box, one for the house).

4 Deep Breaths, separated and keeping one in reserve

5 Whisper Prayers, in small bits

In the former house, prepare the Courageous Heart. Whisper a bit of Prayer (1) Β and add a Deep Breath (1). Close the door behind you. Enter the friend’s vehicle and ride to the airport. As you exit the car, take another Deep Breath (2) and hug your friend good bye. Retrieve your Boarding Passes and move them to an accessible pocket. Travel through security (!!) and head to the gate. When your group is called, give your first Boarding Pass (1) to the gate attendant. Add a Whisper Prayer as you depart (2). Let calm rise for 3 hours to your layover. At the layover city, prepare your Courageous Heart for the second part of the experience. Add another Whisper Prayer (3), comb your hair, and have a snack. Returning to the gate, retrieve the second Boarding Pass and hand to the gate attendant. In your seat, relax for 2 hours, letting joy rise. As you disembark, joy should now be risen high in the Courageous Heart (if not, add another Deep Breath (3) and Whisper Prayer (4)).Β  Accept your rideshare, noting the landmarks and neighborhoods as they pass. As you enter the driveway, pull the Keys from your bag. After tipping the driver, use the first Key (1) to open the gate. Enter the courtyard. There may be tears at this point; that is not unexpected and will only add to the flavor of the experience. Make your way to the front door and use the Key (2) to open it. Note: the Courageous Heart may flutter for a moment but this will pass quickly. Enter the house quietly, taking in the light and newness and possibilities that greet you. Set aside the third Key (3) for retrieving the mail later, when the excitement has settled into joyous contentment. Take a Deep Breath (4) and say a Whisper Prayer (5). Take your shoes off and walk barefoot through the space. Let your Courageous Heart embrace its new HOME.

Tiny Panther

So small and black
all covered in fur
crouches down low
sliding on her belly
so silent
so stealthy
ready to pounce
on the unsuspecting lizard

Season Of Embarrassment

Head bent,

Heart wailing,

Hands Falling

On the sides of the body,

Acquainted to the bustle,

Body becomes heavy

That even the legs begin to shiver.

Not even could she take a step,

In the midst of the heavy crowd.

She was satisfied with

Her clothing

And her behavior

But the fancy crowd wasn’t

All she did was to stand still

And inspect

The crowd’s annoying gaze

Because they were in School

And she needed to comport herself

O Pilot! O Pilot!
Our mouths were screaming in fear
As the deadly ocean waves came towards the ship
It was as if some monster was blowing away the wind from its mouth

A violent, gray, funnel-shaped cloud, rotating in contact with the ground…
Alas! It’s a tornado coming towards the ship!
Our celebration was all going to be washed away with the giant wave

To prevent the ship from drifting away
Soon an anchor was dropped from the ship,
All could hear the loud bells ringing

Girls and Boys
Enjoying the great adventure as it seemed
Blind eyes turning towards them, expressionless
As the brave one fought, risked life for saving the ship

But O Dear Love! Dear Heart! O Heart!
O! the blood was lost
The ship was saved, leaving the captain on the death bed

The ghostly event was over
Only the cries and the haunting memories remained!

Skay Hour 8

Loves sugar, also loves salt

A special dichotomy exists
In a wild flutter of heartbeat
An unsettled unrest
A frenzy to pump
A drive for life
Yet a calm underlying thought
Says all is well because life is.
The calm of the river over a turbulent
Feed of the speedy waves underneath.

The essence of life is Janus.
