Wanderer
Pity me not chained conquerors
I have sprouted wings, for I am wanderer.
24 Poems ~ 24 Hours
Naked
It was the morning train
I missed the earlier one
By Providence or Luck
I do not know
Gray, weeping skies
Dreary start
Young couple, modestly and discreetly
Entwined at the hand
Whispering everything and
Nothing
He leans in, kisses her forehead
She, with eyes closed, sighs deeply
His finger strokes her cheek
I am suddenly shy and overcome
I did not choose this keyhole yet
I am intruding, unintentionally
Witness to unmistakable tenderness
And I cannot turn away from its seductive pull
Though, no voyeuristic pleasure is derived, to be sure
Only a sharp, suffocating awareness of
Lack in my own journey and
I am mocked
I yearn for the earlier train
The one too early for lovers
Where my longing would not be quite so

The ancient Gods lay broken
As the new ones usher
The teachings of soul
Long forgotten by mankind
Now they learn only
About sins and flesh
Every action bringing
God’s wrath on human
While a peaceful civilization
Resided in those times
The times of nature
When we prayed
To Forest Gods
We prayed to those
Who gave us life
Who sustained us
And yet we forget
In the blindness
Of flesh and sin
The life lived
Given by one and only
Mother Earth
To mother nature, who is the only God alive to help us grow.
It takes just the right tree
to build the proper tree house;
we had just that tree –
the sprawled red apple tree
made just that house,
complete with a proper ladder
and sturdy old board floor,
built lovingly by my Grandparents,
and we played happily for hours,
eating unripened apples,
puckery and tangy –
working the glands in our jaws,
stomach ache snacks;
the ledge, our shelves,
lined with empty tin cans
we used as dishes as we
pretended the hours away
on a summer’s day.

Where would we be without excellent stories
to fill our imaginations with dragons, magic, and mystery?
It’s a blessing to go to Narnia or to visit Harry Potter
on a long road trip
or reading together
snuggled with the kids
in the big bed
when the electricity is out.
Charlaine Harris can take me anywhere
I’ll take off to Discworld with Terry Pratchett
and spend dark nights on starless planets with my old sci-fi friends.
Possibilities
New choices
A vacation from the now.
Nice!
Left, Right, Left, Right, each step takes me away from you,
I wanna run back, even after you put me through,
I will not, not this time, when I cross this Boardwalk, I’m free,
When I cross this Boardwalk , you have no power over me.
This is freedom, this is me growing into my own,
past here I will not go back, I will not phone,
This is where I belong, this is where I want to be,
This is my Boardwalk, this crossing is just for me.
I love the view, I love the steps I get to take,
I love the air on my face, and that my smile is not fake,
I will come here often, but never walk back there,
just to look at the path I’ve travelled, for myself I care.
You are the one I adore..
Love you the most.
You are the one I care for the most.
You are my world.. My happiness. My strength
and no thank you will ever be enough.
endangered
if you mean to discuss loss
do not save end for last
nor begin with red
which will stain all that follows
feather and scale
horn and hoof
tender your attentions
on anger and apathy
the danger of greed
agile rapists in Eve’s garden
tusk and shell
tooth and fin
the end not cliff but cascade
drop upon drop of inattention
the rat in rationalize
chewing at laziness, eyes red
flight and slither
burrow and plod
yes even here past the red
signal light, pull on the brake
the rhino already
has two feet on the rail.

A walk along the boardwalk is heaven onto me.
So many sights of pleasure unknown to me.
One day I will climb the mountain peaks to see what I can see.
But for now I’ll enjoy the water that flow slowly beside me.
As I drift into the scenery around,
there is nothing more heavenly than the beauty abound.
A walk along the boardwalk to a place waiting for me.
At the end of this journey, I hope to be all I can be.

I am here but you can’t see me.
I know you can’t
If you could see me
You’d see a mother child
In need of love, true love
And you would not leave me here, in the dark, without food, on the cold…hard…ground.
You say you love. Do you love me? Do you see me?
I am Invisible.
