Techy times

Old time radio
new and exciting for families
In comes television
family time
Drive-ins and dating
Technology changing our world
VCR’s, CD’s radios, microwaves and swatches
The latest and the greatest devices makes life easier but deboches
Family time and reality shut up
Radiation and cancer and such
IPads and latest phones
Life all in one
No time for people
No time for fun
Mechanically minded
Are our kids
When they grow up
Life they cannot deal with
Pills to settle it
Crimes on the rise
Access denied
But this new technology
It’s a blast!
All because we do not live in the past.

Poem 8a: Bast: A Pantoum

Eyelashes feather over eyes round and moist.
She gleams, black as patent leather, in the lamplight.
After accepting our supplication, she will sleep.
Her belly sways, a sonnet in motion.

She gleams, black as patent leather, in the lamplight.
Her movements flow like sunlight.
Her belly sways, a sonnet in motion.
The ground groans in delight beneath her.

Her movements flow like sunlight.
Eyelashes feather over eyes round and moist.
The ground groans in delight beneath her.
After accepting our supplication, she will sleep.

Hour Nine Has Arrived!

A DESCENDANT OF THE DISCIPLES

a couple thousand

years ago

some men and women sacrificed

their lives

stoned, crucified, exiled,

and I’m over here

worried

what other people will think if I mention

that I believe in

the same Jesus.

The Road is Far and Long

Do not rest yet my love the road is far and long

Rest is not yet in sight we’ll sing another song

Another song that leads that leads to where we’ll go

So don’t rest yet my love don’t rest yet this I know

The long and winding  road will lead us to a place

Where dreams are just at hand and so within our reach

We’ll work out very hard to get what we desire

Then walk away again into the farther far.

Poem 9- Escape

Like wood in a jungle of concrete

Is my imagination

Breaking the monotony

Excel sheets, G-cals, bland academic papers

Demand equals supply at the equilibrium price

My imagination creates disequilibrium

What if the equilibrium choice is not the right choice?

What if I escaped?

If I were to step out of the bubble-like glass structure I am in

And examine the grains of wood

What would I discover?

What if I escaped?

Can I escape?

Like wood in a jungle of concrete

Are the vivid memories of my childhood

When my only worries were the next storybook I should read

Whether I wanted chocolate chip or vanilla

When home was where I slept

And the world my playground during the day

I was blissfully ignorant then, I am knowledgeable now

Am I?

The world I live in, the world economists hail as “perfect”

Is a bit of an anomaly

Am I surrounded by unlimited choices, or none at all?

What if I escaped?

Can I escape?

I held myself underwater
So I could rise above the surface
And prove myself alive
The lungs ballooning

So I could rise above the surface
And enjoy the shock of breathing
The lungs ballooning
Proof that I deserved to survive

And enjoy the shock of breathing
I held myself underwater
Proof that I deserved to survive
And prove myself alive

Lure

I am your story teller
Come kneel at my feet
Help me sort the truth
From all of the deceit
Let me whisper Majick
To give your skin the chill
Listen as I weave
The sounds that give you thrill

Hour 9

Happiness is fleecing
Happiness is hiding
Happiness is running
Happiness is lost

How do I fund happiness?
How do I harness happiness?
How do I receive happiness?
How do I fulfill happiness?

Inhale happiness
Exhale happiness
Embrace happiness
Believe happiness

This Could Be Trouble

There must be something missing

But I’m too afraid to ask

It was right here between my ears

Last time that I checked

I know it served a purpose

If not to help me blink

When was it that I last used it

I’m trying hard to think

If I don’t find it soon enough

This noodle to my noggin

I just might run into

A bit of a problem

Poem (#9)

Here for a wedding

All black, white and glimmering

Sweat rises through clothes
