Farm Girl Pantoum

How did I end up here on a farm
when I’ve always felt at home in the city?
How did I become so domestic,
so unsophisticated, so middle class?

I’ve always felt at home in the city,
but now I look at city lawns in wonder.
So unsophisticated, so middle class.
Wouldn’t chickens and garden make your life better?

I look at those small city lawns. No wonder
I ended up here on a farm.
Chickens and garden make anyone’s life better.
Dirt is sophistication. Chicken shit is real class.

Love underrated outdated frustrated (prompt 8)

In the heat of created passion

A light is broken, pieces of glass

and the night is interrupted by

daybreak and breakups of lovers

A light is broken, pieces of glass

every where and no time to see light

daybreak and breakup of lovers

recants stories of promising affection

Every where? No time to see light

But darkness cascades in the cusp

recants stories of promising affection

much to the dismay of being in love with love

But darkness cascades in the cusp

where light can not break the bow

the dismay of being in love with love

There is sorrow lifting in the night air

Where light can not break the bow

of the arrow shot through our hearts

There is sorrow lifting, in the night air

while we hold our breaths for second chances

The arrow shot through our hearts

In the heat of created passion

while we hold our breaths for second chances

interrupted by the night

Dearest Fiona – A Poem for my Granddaughter – Poem 8/24 (Obviously, the Pantoum is not something I feel up to right now… day has been a bit tiring so far… so I’m doing a poem to my granddaughter Fiona)

F is for frills on your little girl dress

And for fractions of love by which we have been blessed

I is for inklings of love and God’s Grace

That’s been splashed all across your little princess face

O is for orbits of laughter and fun

That you create all around us with your smile when you run

N is for never do we ever want to be

Without you, or the happiness you spread so pure and free

A is for the Angel bestowed from above

By God’s Grace and His Mercy and His great Love

Poem no.8: Moto

I rescue cats – and I have many. Of all the moggies who’ve made it to my farm, Moto is the only cat I’ve never managed to tame. This poem describes our relationship *sigh*

She hates me so, this little cat;
Perfectly pawed, she sits and stares
Watching me closely should I move,
She’s ready to race to the nearby hedge.

Perfectly pawed, she sits and stares;
Complete disdain for all I am.
She’s ready to race to the nearby hedge,
Leaving my offers of food and love.

Complete disdain for all I am?
I’ve offered her nothing but shelter and more!
Leaving my offers of food and love,
She glares at me flatly, then flicks her tail.

I’ve offered her nothing but shelter and more!
Her trust has been broken – that is clear.
She glares at me flatly, then flicks her tail
And in a whisper of leaves, she is gone.

Her trust has been broken – that is clear.
It’s too late for me to make amends;
And in a whisper of leaves, she is gone
While I am left sitting – waiting here.

Poem 7

Home

Packing my bags,
Going to home.
The real joy,
While having many storms.
Counting days,
Which says, few days more,
Then you will be at your door.
Where the roots originates,
From a leaf to tree,
That made me free.
Does not matter, how old I grow,
But I still miss my childhood pillow.
Father‘s love to Mother’s lap,
But now there is a care gap.
We hide feelings so not to worry each other,
Is the reason that we are still together?
Leaving this aside, let’s go to ride.
To make all moments, again alive.
Bitter is the truth, safer are the lies,
That how we manage to flies.
School books to childhood dome,
I accept that, I miss my home.

Prompt 8: Ravenous Pantoum

A lamb, waiting for wolves to take my meat

When monstrous teeth sunk deep into my flesh

Changed the molecules of who I am

And now I raven, wild beneath the moon.

When monstrous teeth sunk deep into my flesh

I howled with the pain of transformation

And now I raven, wild beneath the moon

Pretending to be human in the day

I howled with the pain of transformation,

Infected by a bestial honesty.

Pretending to be human in the day

Is hard when I just want to rip out throats.

Infection by a bestial honesty

Changed the molecules of whom I am.

It’s hard when I just want to rip out throats

Of lambs, waiting for wolves to make them meat.

Summer

The morning sun shines

Sky is golden with blue hues

Leaves dance in the wind

Summer days are always hot

Summer nights are for kissing

Angst

I see you there all cool in your imagined success, feeling smug as if you pulled it off.

I see you there.

I see more than the form that you you. I see the hurt, the pain, the lies. I see the truth you try so hard to hide.

Time eases the wounds and scars and I almost forget. I don’t want to forget – I need to remember.

I need to remember what I really see when you sit there so smugly.

I see you.

Come Along with Me

Come along with me,
Let us watch the stars,
Let’s watch and stare at it
‘Till it mend our broken scars.

Let us watch the stars ,
And drown in our constellation of thoughts
‘Till it mend our messed up scars,
And find the things we yearned to sought.

Drown in our constellation of thoughts,
Accept the fact that pain demands to be felt completely,
Take up your own cross and all the burden it brought,
And remember that this world is not a wish granting factory.

Pain demands to be felt, completely.
Take up your own cross and walk this journey faithfully,
And remember that this world is not a wish granting factory.
So, come along with me.
