Technological Disadvantages

I hate it how

el

oh

el

has replaced

real laughter

and

oh

em

gee

replaces

the shock on

your face

we don’t talk

we don’t see

each other

we spend more

time staring

at screens

that light up

and vibrate

creating memories

in posts

and tweets

and snap chats

we have lost the

art of authentic

relationships

and conversation

diluted

by emojis

with tongues

out and

dogs

and cats

and surfing

where is the

noun and verb

agreement

and the intimacy

of verbal

exchange

diminished

by the light

of cell phones

and the chirps

and alerts

that a new

message has

been received

Star Wars

It was never easy

Growing up in the shadow

of the empire but it

toughened you up. It made

you strong, even when you

didn’t want to be and now

the first order is just some

cheap knockoff but it’s only

there to perpetuate the inevitable.

#5 – The Price of Urination (Technology)

android, robots, and neo-plastic killer drone
time for this one to go home

i see the future as if it’s now
i see the past and wonder how
i see the present in undertow
i wonder if, they’ll ever know

our brains are melted and filled with chips
under skin implanted with program scripts
mechanical eyes to display our soul
chemical exercises to hide our roll

3D goggles to show us life
intelligent robots to be our wife
kids conceived in gelatin
modern metals used as skeleton

veggie pills, invented meat, and drinks unknown
time for this one to go home

re-clone the runners to be fast
each new race will be their last
breathing water makes good dives
defecating honey for people hives

the air is bad, you cannot breathe
invent a plasma replicate sheathe
alloy toes and silverware for fingers
create new lungs for better singers

GMO seeds all freshly sown
fields of corn bizarrely grown
frogs with whiskers in a swamp
lions and lambs perform detente

computer buttons, fake kittens, and bone
time for this one to go home

we cut the mountains down to half
we force the cow to stay a calf
we mine the world of silicone
tits are bigger and overblown

we push the needles in our head
stuttering stops but drools instead
a pill for this and a pill for that
underground structures as habitat

test tube babies and test tube food
it all depends on how it’s viewed
so, last night while i was peeing
i saw the life of a human being

nature, goodness, and hair wind blown
time for this one to go home

i see the future as if it’s now
i see the past and wonder how
i see the present in undertow
i wonder if, they’ll ever know

Whole Once More

You are not invisible, though you walk in the shadows of this world.
You are not alone, though you journey on your own.
The heaviness in your heart is a fettered weight,
anchored to the sorrows of the past and the unknowns of the future.
But I will steady your trembling breath.
I will turn your burning tears into the silky petals of nature.
My hand holds your heart, I will be your heartbeat when you faint.
My arms are wrapped tightly around you, I cannot let you go.
It is against my nature.
You do not cry alone this night, or any other night.
Open your eyes and see.
Trust, and see me.
I will remove the weights from your soul.

When you break and shatter, I feel your soul tearing apart,
and though you silently wish for death, I will hold you through it.
I will not let you bleed or flake away.
I will heal every broken piece within you, until you are whole once more.

III. How to Boil an Egg

Library 1 May 25, 2014

I’ve heard it said
When a young man dies
It’s as if a book’s been burned;
But when an old man dies,
It’s as if an entire library
Has burned to the ground.

For me,
If the internet dies,
I’ll suffer certain losses,
and simple facts like
how to boil an egg
will once again be
a mystery.

So, if it should come to that,
You’ll find me in the library
trying like hell
to keep that old man alive
so at least I’ll know how
to turn on the stove.

Hour 5

There are things that my spirit hasn’t forgiving… Therefore I take the time I’m giving to make myself complete…

New Age Writing

Through paper and pen is how I begin but nothing seems to mean as much as the lcd screen.

Swiftly sliding my fingers between each letter therein, a knocking it gives when I’m close to the end.

The magic appears swifter than ink with an inappropriate smear.

A word processor at my fingertips and internal rogets to keep my syllables hip.

Nothing comes close to this modern technology so close,

Leaving college rule a mythical ghost.

A Cold World

A morning with sun

in a world frozen cold,

where money is what rules

and compassion is null.

Tears no one sees,

for those with no voice,

helpless they feel

alone with no choice.

Tired they get

in a world with no care

Where is the love?

why won’t they share?

Stand out

Everyday is a convention

You wake up, put on your monkey suit, and get cracking

And for what? To fit in? To get ahead?

Even if you could, why

should you have to conform

to the norms of society

when they’re completely arbitrary

in the first place?

Poem 5

So much like me

And yet, yourself

In your own right.

Your intuitions, emotions,

Feelings, and thoughts

Are your own

But they were grown

In the garden

Of your childhood.

I tried to pull the weeds

To keep them from choking

Out the beauty of

Your mind,

Your heart,

Your soul.

But weeds have a way of

Taking root

Winding and twisting,

Pushing through the natural growth.

Your tears can wash away

The hurts, the mistrust,

The past memories,

And nurture all that is good

In your being.

You are special, cherished,

My special daughter.

I’m sorry for the baggage

You carry in your heart,

Your psyche.

We are connected in ways

Deeper than you will ever

Understand.
