Without myth #2

I, being from great ancients,

believed in myths, till I saw one myself.

I was without sight from then on- I did not perceive,

a quest, ridden with impatience.

Many did not understand, my foolishness,

and my pride, my anger and my folly,

but they did not know I saw a myth,

one reserved for exclusiveness.

What could this myth be,

that so ruined my very existence?

What could have left me for dead?

What could not look back with no apology?

Come close and I’ll tell you,

I’ll whisper it in your ear,

why, I looked in a mirror,

and do you know what I found staring back at me?

A monster held to my heart, oh so dear.

Closed ears # 2

I didn’t listen…

Far too busy mingling,

regrettable now.

Invincible love

don’t stray away from me please

Mend my broken heart.

Twinkling eyes calling

tugging at my heartstrings now

Old summer ending.

Sometimes

Sometimes with love everything is scary
Other times everything is perfect
Emotions are weird.
So is anxiety.

Relationships take work.
That’s what they say,
But I never really believed them before.

Now, I do.
Ups and downs are part of a healthy relationship.
Sometimes you are too stressed to really talk
Other times you can talk all day.

People don’t stay the same
So why on earth should our relationships.
Everything, but the love you share,
Only happens sometimes.

Anger

Anger is not our true nature
but a response
due to conditioning , habits.
put it aside, as it arise
do not bear in mind
for it does not
belong in your
pure heart.

#2 Together

We sit
Together, but not
You, slaying some hidden dragon
Me, soaking in the calmness, before the storm
You look at me,
Nothing but Love
Sunshine soaking us
Hidden dragons all around
We sit, calm and safe in each other’s Love
The world turning, as we rest

Ask Me Tomorrow

I grieve today the loss of a dream

A dreamed I birthed and nourished

I have lost it today to life’s barbarous stream

And all its memories that I cherished

So ask me tomorrow how I feel

Judge me not on the smiles I borrowed

I know not whether my heart will heal soon

Ask me tomorrow.

Bird Muse #1: The Owl

Bird Muse #1:  The Owl

Frannie Z

He sat in a tree, at night,

his eyes flashing,

his call surrounding

the tree

in which my crush

and best friend

sat

and more than made out.

I have wondered since then

if his reputation for wisdom

sits mainly on his thoughtful gaze

and round, predatory eyes,

his ability to swivel

and confound.

But oh, how soft his feathers are

To thumb.

High Noon Decision

High noon and hungry
Hot as hell

Open a beer without being judged?
Is anyone watching?
Who would tell?

Who wants to know?
Who would care?

The folks at the bar?
I have friends that are there.

Have one for me!
It’s never too early!
Let down your hair!

I’m a party waiting to happen.
Like the storm clouds in the sky.

Maybe I should open a beer
And not worry about the why.

First some food, that’s the ticket.
Then some rest.

So that when I party, I’ll be at my best.
Should the storm clouds open, well!

I’ll say the party never stopped, even as the rain fell!
