Hello

I’m Jasper and I’m a writer. I’ve been writing since I learned to write and poetry came upon me pretty easily. Of my many goals in life, one of them is to publish a chapbook, so I’m excited to see what comes out of my fingers and brain over the 24 hour marathon.

Firestarter. I am.

I was created,

born to write,

written word

my heart, body, soul.
I live, breath, eat it.
Never perfection, always perfecting.

The word

will never leave

me, it is my destiny.

writing in seattle

I’ve not participated in any sort of marathon, except perhaps sleeping! I am a “sometimes” poet, writing herds of poems for days and then months can go by without a single word. So this will be a true challenge for me.

The city of Seattle is my home, and I live in the neighborhood of Ballard, where Norwegians and boats are aplenty.

Nature and my imagination are my muses. And of course, the love of words.

Good luck to us all!

testing poem entry

enlivening one’s unimulitiverse

Innermost recesses of one’s soul
animation of heart’s portal
spring of undertaking long lasting
forging life in wondering pace
looking beyond to the level of satisfaction
indeed a contentment beyond self
working in harmony with others
truly fulfilling feats of such humanity
truly enlivening one’s unimulitiverse

testing fate

i am ready to test the limits-

to push past all my fears and stretch my hand

feeling every muscle strain –

being in the spur of a moment and

reaching for whatever mystery awaits.

i am ready to be in the moment

on top of a cliff or deep in the water

or fly through the clouds-

wherever the words take me-

i am ready.

and having you along for the ride makes it

all worthwhile.

Newbie from NY

Hi everyone. This is my first marathon and I am so happy to have stumbled across it. I am looking forward to the 12 hours of spilling my words in between my mom duties and work. I cannot wait to see what is on everyone’s mind. I love a challenge and even more so when it’s a hobby, this should be fun!

Writer’s Block

Twenty-four poems

in twenty four hours.

I always have so many

Words!

Where will they all come from?

How will I be so inspired?

Will my muse slumber?

Will my pen be mute?

My observations

of life around me

Are on high alert

as my heart prepares

to put forth words

it has not yet spoken.
