I put it in expo marker on the fridge.
I wish I hadn’t erased it because now my evening meals taste different without you here.
I am missing something.
Maybe ingredients?
Or maybe it’s just that I miss you.
Let life be not all about hate; after all we are not balls of fire. We are all children of God even if we don’t believe in heaven. It’s easy for most to hate and hard to love because of what we’ve been through. But if we hold onto prayer it helps to establish a belief in something larger than one’s self. So, grab hold of a golden angels wing and ride. Let the wind carry your heavy heart and make it feel again.
pray
Up at the attic,
I saw my twin,
Hang her head, I watch her dead.
I promised not to speak,
Everything’s a bleak.
She wishes for this to happened,
She ends her despair.
Back then, we played a lot of hide and seek,
She catches me weak,
And so, I ponder why she’d go?
And made me promised to hide what I know.
We played houses, make-believe roles,
She owned kitchen sets where she used to steal,
She said, it will be a quick feel.
Cut my fingers off, hammered me down,
And then She told mom, that I run of off town,
Now, I’m back with my night gown,
A minute, a little late
To town.

it doesn’t matter
the spilled nail polish
the stained mattress
the broken plate
none of it remained
nothing stays the same for long
the countertops will be replaced
the new bed will be softer
the kitchen will be filled with different sets
we will keep going forward
we will not take it with us
it doesn’t matter
the dirty carpet
the toothpaste mirror
the wet towel
all of it was left behind
all of it forgotten
the glass will be wiped down
the floors will be ripped up
the towels will be used for cleaning
we will forgive ourselves
we will start again
1. I am like a lotus leaf, Water can fall on me but cannot touch me like
Adversities can attack me but can never break my spirit
2. Our earth is not flat
But heck! It is hollow and nothing
And no one can deter me from changing
My mind on this; it is hollow that hides terrible secrets like secret of life, cavemen and all those things
That have disappeared from our world…
4. She lost her eyes in a freak accident years ago
Her family was inconsolable
But they need not have worried
For she saw the world with her ears
She heard and sifted the different sounds of the world
And her ears made her see who was who
And which was which…
5. Srivalli Ramana Raghavenda Chegu
Lived in the temple town of Kanchipuram
He woke up with the sun
And waited patiently out the famous Iyer’s idly shop
For how would the day bode well
Until you sat on the wooden benches
And drowned your Kanchipuram idlies in sambar
And gulped it down your gullet!
7. She was blind and helpless and adamant and gauche
Though her teacher taught her to use her other senses
She was adamant; she would use only the eyes that had no light, no hope…
The mystery isn’t
In those fascinating
Cobra fangs
Nor in spiders waltzing
Willingly into
Their wives’ lacy webs
Nor in the flapping orange
Glory of conflagrations
That recycle thriving forests
Nor in the natural
Heartbeat of a river
Repeatedly eating its own banks
No
The mystery
Is why do humans
Believe
With the same
Brains that
Build cathedrals
That they have a right to
Pass moral judgement
On God’s ethics
Daddy’s home, daddy’s home
He’s back from a day of work
Places his jacket on the chair
Some books and flowers too
He picked them on the way home
Forgot mom went to sleep and didn’t get up
After dinner, grandma will leave,
She would’ve already put daddy’s work things away
He will give me a ride on the chair,
All around the room, until I get tired
Mom is gone and there are boxes everywhere
We just have this chair
It was all that was left after the fire
The fire that made mommy sleep and never wake up
