Thank you for this prompt! I saw “my picture” immediately and almost just as quickly knew what I’d write about. Here goes. . . . With a smile, Jan
Thanks again

#PoetryMarathon #hour3
I swarm. Above them all, I see.
It’s warm. They frolic by the sea.
I flap. And down the shore I’m cal’t.
They nap, kissed by ocean salt.
I land. I wait to fill my tum.
On sand, a child drops a crumb.
Hoping I find inspiration for hour three! Hour two’s prompt was a sad attempt, as I had only minutes to create, having spent far too long with wordpress trying to keep my indented lines for the poem I wrote in response to prompt one – failed miserably, and the parenthetical lines are not indented. Alas, I am now behind…
Cristy -You still have plenty of time, if you need to step away from the laptop to reset, do so!
Thanks, Caitlin!
The Sand Surfers
Little boys and girls wear slick black wet suits
as they practice surfing on soggy sand.
With arms outstretched, they pretend to balance
themselves on un-waxed surfboards, as parents
dutifully watch them from beneath their yellow
beach umbrellas. Older children who ocean
surf wonder when these young fledglings will leave
the safety of the unwavering sand
and venture into the sea, to experience
firsthand the thrilling thrust of undulant
waves and sea-born independence.
