The Yellow Telephone Booth
The Yellow Telephone Booth
Now a stand-alone monument
A lot of talk and carried-away gestures
Concealed like a visitor’s book
People wanting to be wired now
Hold each other in their pockets (without wires)
Coveted glances once upon a time
Worn off the mixed yellow tint
Who knew that nostalgia is a thing of the past
Hour 17
This strikes such a chord! Our red telephone boxes have almost disappeared as we, too, ‘hold each other in [our] pockets’ and move away from the magical time of walking into a box to call someone. Yes, nostalgia is, indeed, a thing of the past!
Yeah…lot of memories attached
A little gem. Love it!
Thank you
Intelligent writing, made me think of what we have lost in thinking we are advancing. Love this poem!
Thanks a lot
