I rarely use umbrellas on rainy days
I’d rather stand in the way of the water when it’s warm weather and okay
I always carry an umbrella late summertime nights When I travel by bus or train no matter if it rains , as my extra arm of protection

I love that line “I’d rather stand in the way of the water”! And the contrast between types of protection, so clever and sadly true. Thank you.
I have to agree with everything that Jo has written in her comment – the umbrella is of no use when the weather and rain are warm (standing in the way of water is a glorious thing to do) and yet, when the nights darken, the umbrella becomes a different kind of protection – sad but true. Gorgeously contrasting stanzas that give a glimpse into your world.
Thank you 😊
