Poem 1 From Prompt #1 My Mother…My Influence and Sometimes Muse by Ingrid Exner

Today,

My Mother is

bent with age.

Calloused hands that

once held mine-

through Education, Illness and Time!

Memories swim through her

Eyes!

Talking, sharing and laughing,

we have swam miles-

Together!

Yet today, we

Wade!

through memories

Fearing Forgetfulness

of anything new.

My warrior sister, my mother-

My muse!

Today,

My  Mother is

Bent with

age

but fearlessly

facing tomorrow

in Strength!

  1. I loved this, Ingrid! Sounds like you have a lovely muse, and a glimpse of a wonderful, strong future. I feel the same about my own mother, 77 in three days, and am so proud every time someone tells me I’m like her. Beautiful poem.

  2. I love all your poems. They all have sweet simplicity running through them. And simplicity is not a simple art, with less being more.
The strong themes of nature, real living, and the general essence of life makes them a go-to read for uplifting.
