Revolution

It was sparked in Minneapolis and quickly spread all around the world.

there’s no end in sight in more ways than one

but the success and progress being made is undeniable.

even as the world continues to burn,

we can see the hose on the horizon.

when ever single person on the face of the planet

is treated equally,

that’s when revolution becomes institution

Hey, Jude

i just want you to know i’m here for you

whatever you need. you’ve always been perched on my shoulder

and turnabout is fair play. i carry the planet

around so you don’t have to.

i know it can be scary venturing out on your own for the first time

but i’m ready, willing and able to help you carry on

to the very end, bitter or otherwise

I am the walrus

Not the one you’re thinking of

but rather a majestic creature just bursting with individuality

ready to make it to the other side if we persist.

Despite this, I don’t go in the water very often.

It’s an empty void with nothing left for me.

Dry land is underrated anyway.

I stand and deliver

a way forward for a new generation

to come and see what makes life worth living,

what makes the world continue to spin

and what we leave behind in the aftermath of existentialist juncture.

Strawberry Fields

don’t look it in the eyes or

you’ll be stuck there forever.

but it’s a beautiful existence inside the mind of

one of the best monuments, a testament to the

determination and grit of humankind.

you’re welcome to pick a strawberry or two when the moment suits you,

just don’t let it consume you

Eleanor Rigby

Leave the rice on the floor where it belongs.

Dreamland is not your home no matter how much it beckons to you.

Day after day, you wear a surreal mask that you keep in the folds of your existence.

Don’t let anyone else see it or you’ll vanish off the face of the earth

and for what? Just to come home and write a speech that will never see the light of the day?

No, there’s more than you can perceive in any given existentialist theory

and when all is said and done, your memory will jump right into that grave

as you struggle to discern what it was all for in the first place.

Eleanor Rigby: the one who swam so far just to drown in shallow waters.

Yellow Submarine

It’s pervasive enough to the point where it’s impossible not to notice.

you were born here and this is where your fight will conclude.

don’t get spun out in the logistics of existentialism.

it will only drag you down. the important thing to remember is

if the sub sinks, we’re all going down with it

so it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep it afloat.

We can work it out

even if you can’t perceive it.

i want you to know it’s no one’s fault.

the only one you could possibly blame is father time.

he did this to you, made you think you could become more than you are.

that there was some grand scheme that would eventually pave the way for an endgame gratifying

enough to please everyone. whatever curveballs we face, we can catch it.

we may have been powerless to stop them yesterday

but not today. and that’s

all that matters

Yesterday

yesterday is not you.

it’s an arbitrary irrelevant force

that cares only about self-preservation and destruction.

tomorrow isn’t you either.

only today

tomorrow is a ticking time bomb while yesterday

is the code to defuse it.

only be embracing today can you prevent the worst that is yet to come

Help

Coming to terms with a meaningless existence

is never an easy to feat

and it certainly won’t get easier as

the walls begin to close in

around me.

The castle door is shutting and

I can’t seem to get there on time.

I just can’t find an out

no reason or rhyme

where do i go?

what do i do?

when they were handing out instruction manuals,

i must have been brooding through it all

i can’t leave because

they’d never let me out alive

but what becomes of my existentialism

if i remain in the bowels of a world that doesn’t recognize me?

The castle door is shutting and

I can’t seem to get there on time.

I just can’t find an out

no reason or rhyme

But if a semblance of purpose

manifests in the darkness,

if i can derive inherent obligation

within the clutches of purgatory,

maybe it can still work.

maybe this is where we’re meant to be .

The castle door is shutting and

I can’t seem to get there on time.

I just can’t find an out

no reason or rhyme

Ticket to ride

it’s the best one in town.

you’ll get soaked in all of it: the rivers and roads

the friendly townsfolk waving on the bridge as you pass by it

the backstreets that built this nation into what it is today.

it’s a great big world out there and you can see it all from the comfort

of your own seat.

the only downside is when it ends

but then again every ending is just another beginning
