The Poetry Marathon

He was gloomy although was the nicest of them all.

He knew she was the light and he was darkness.

He also knew she was the one that started as sunshine.

He was the one that ended as nighttime.

Like a relationship that ended he was there for comfort.

She had left them all behind for someone new.

The new world opened up for now

change happened in a new lighting

darkness was always coming

serendipity there

world controlled by soul

spirit unbend

new world here

next thing

GOD!

Instead of skyscrapers.

I would rather see small storefronts where they know you.

Clouds shining as darkness settles.

Forest rangers come and go trying to get supplies before another hard night.

Trying to find things in the dark is like a single needle in a haystack.

Fireworks.

Bells.

Jolly times.

Old to a new year.

I failed over and over.

I got back up after each time.

Not always gracefully or even enthusiastically.

I was even told that things would be hard or I might not make it.

Great confidence booster.

Congratulations!

Found rings control the future.

Separated the ideals.

Come together for a common goal.

An adventure that is paralleled in the world.

Love, loss, emotions, betrayal.

War leading to peace.

The ring is destroyed at the cost of many.

New love overcomes adversity and once enemies that fought for a common goal are now friends with respect.

The town is small.

No big store but many tiny ones.

Expensive for those that visit and rarely bought by those around.

A dock is at the park.

A large path going from one side of town to the other.

Downtown to uptown confusion.

Change happens and it is boring.

I don’t want to change this small, although safe little town.

Foot moved from left to right.

sand, gravel, dirt, concrete.

No car but miles of the slower path.

Stopping to smell the roses and picking fresh wild berries.

Talking and laughing.

No need to hurry on a nice afternoon.

Found are the memories of a time past.

Telling a future what was.

It was hidden.

Now uncovered.

Good or bad.

It is not showing something.

Has truth been untold?

Betrayal.

Loss.

Forgiveness.

Up.

Down.

Time.

Energy.

Patience.

Interest.

Lots of things together.

Many bunched together.
