24 Poems ~ 24 Hours
This is my third marathon. The first two were interesting over the past two years most of my writing has consisted of short statements on daily life, politics, and philosophy posted to Facebook in addition to an occasional poem and some informational documents. I have been writing off and on for many years but only writing poetry for about 13 years. Looking forward to this challenge and making new friends and reading some new poetry.
speak the truth, do not stray
lies deceive
do you not know this is the truth?
you keep the lies at bay
do perceive
develop this skill in your youth
people will trust in you
they will know
fail and suffer the reckoning
the truth they will pursue
toe-to-toe
welcome to the awakening
life is full of shared lies
shared again
persuasiveness is what they gain
work the truth, lies will die
truth will strain
and under the strain truth finds the prize

others i know are not so blind
symptoms are there in those they see

the sick and their friends feel crappy
and seek for way to set spirit free

outside my widow every night
the owls will hoot and take flight
and then often stay out of sight
you get a fright, you get a fright
the packrats seek to avoid them
by running along the tree stem
the owls are looking to take some
but not the sum, but not the sum
Food cooking
Bread baking
Wine decanting
Table set
Diana calls
I come
Love follows
The Universe is everything
Planets are the thing
orbit their suns
they do not hum
galaxies shepherd their many suns
some will become
mighty blackholes
others, bang goes
we are less than a speck of dust
to learn we must
knowledge awaits
we conquer fate
why
do you
fear so much
what led to this
in your life what was so bad that fear rules you
it is time to change that old paradigm
you feel it too
not later
do it
now
false stats
he knows them well
time and again he tweets
time now to know what’s false data
and think
We often look for someone to blame
for we need to cover up our shame
to family and friends
we find only dead ends
and our arse is all alone in the flame.
