Oh, Captain, my captain; the wind blows high
and rocks the ship, but I know we will reach land.
Though the fight is hard — no bells to ring a death
knell — we’ve faith in your steady hand.
Against this storm you will keep us safe.
Though our hearts beat furious and fast,
the raging seas are not the cause. A virus with no cure
consumes us, even to the very last.
OK you are officially amazing. I got too hung up on the original poem. This is so creative! Thank you.
Thanks, Sarah! Good to be creating together again! I decided to start with the first images as more of a prompt, and though I added some deciphering in, I did let it go on its own and that helped. Fun times again, but this year I wasn’t as on my game. Hope you enjoyed it? I am off to read and comment on poems over the next few days – there are 155 of us in the half-marathon!
