Ten years in the past
Young people in school
Fell in lust for each other
But how could it last?
The years quickly past
With studies and work.
The birth of two children
Sometimes they clashed.
A new home in the Fort
New jobs for them both.
Children in school
They started to court.
With each falling-out
And each making-up
A bond they created
Without a knock-out.
With a Rose gold ring
They made big plans,
To show the world
“This is not just a fling.”

Very sweet! Thank you for sharing!
Love it, I also married my high school sweetheart – it’s so nice when you can “prove them all wrong “
Kellianne is my granddaughter and I now live around the corner from them. I love having her drop in to borrow something and share a few minutes with me.
She is a strong and determined woman.
This prompt was like a tiny time-capsule, an invitation to a mini-autobiography. This one is so well done – short, to the point and yet so poignant and clear-eyed. I love that it didn’t get lost in over-done language. Thank you!!
Thank you Sarah.
