I gazed at him
Tightly tucked
In his blanket
As his eye lashes took
The night off
The whole world
That surrounds me
The air, the quiet,
Stopped dead in their tracks
Momentarily as if lending me
The opportunity to capture
It for an eternity’s keepsake.
No worries threatened to
Crease his brow
No wrinkles dared to crumple
He is such an angel when he’s asleep.
This is such a sweet poem that really beckons that feeling of watching someone you love when they are asleep. A beautiful poem!
thank you.
