Inspired by Robert Frost’s “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”
The journey’s long, but love waits there.
The road is wide, then narrows where,
Darkness comes before it’s time
To gather close and offer care.
Young hearts wait, our hugs to feel.
Old bodies push on, the pain is real.
Too young to know the cost of love
They long for precious time to steal.
The path is hard, our faith is deep,
“But we have promises to keep,
And miles to go before we sleep,
And miles to go before we sleep.”
I feel Frost’s presence in your poem…the attention to detail…his sense of rhythm and rhyme. Well done
