No
No, I will not read T.S. Eliot
Nor submit to revisiting the age old themes
Of all the classics
Drives me batshit
A path well worn means safer travels
Means more traffic,
More regulation
More stupid people in the way…
I’m too impatient
Give me a machete and a pickaxe
I’ll blaze my own path,
Channel the Iconoclast
Bombastic self-expression optimized
No rules for the radicals
(Sorry Saul Alinsky)
No boundaries
Crossing every double yellow line
Sleep deprived
Reactionary
When I’m tired I get defiant
Nevermind
This piece speaks to me on so many levels! First of all, I love that you decided to write *against* the prompt. That is always cool to me. This: “A path well worn means safer travels Means more traffic,” is everything! Great imagery here. Nice work for such a late prompt!
How did you get inside my thoughts? I also balked at the J. Alfred prompt. My solution was to pick a line or two (without reading the whole thing) and write what I will. You employed one of my common ploys: rant at the prompt. But you did it so creatively! Well done.
