Excite me

Excite me!

Do you have what it takes to excite me?
Can you make my body pump out large jugs of adrenaline
Can you make my heart skip a beat
Nay, skip several beats
Can you make me juggle from one foot to the other in barely repressed, deep seated excitement
Can you make me laugh genuinely and wholeheartedly
Can you make me so very carefree
That I forget my name and hay
Can you make me give you several mischievous grins
Can you….excite me?

Hour 11

A book is nothing but paper printed on with ink

Yet whole new worlds live within

Transporting each reader into new dimensions

Setting them free from their stress

Their worries

Their fears

Their feeling of being “stuck”

A letter to you, sky.

Dear sky,
Will words ever be enough to tell you
How grateful I am to you
for your vast blanket of clouds
That kept me warm
when my little heart was freezing.
How do I tell thank you,
for the starlings,
Who heard all my stories
or to your moonchild
Who watched me weep.
Dear sky,
I thank you for the sunshine in my life
and for the smiles you lent me.
This all all I can say If I ever have to Repay.

11 Poetry Pounds

Plan ahead they say

Good to have treats

Carrot stick theory

Stick is too few poems

Carrot is too tight pants

Still not even half way

Coffee yoghurt pops

Cranberry granola bars

Raisin English muffins

Bloating by the hour

Words rest on my belly

Lifting on to the page

Hours to go concerns

Elastic waist flannels

I can breathe again

Severally

And severally
I try to reach for the phone
To call you
But, I am unsure of your reception
The few times I had called you
Your voice, your tone screamed cold indifference
But the urge to call rests strong upon me
No matter how much I struggle to repress it
Subconsciously, I reach again for the phone, hating myself and maybe, you
I check out your number
And peer at your face which you’ve used as your display picture
I tell myself….you’re not worth the trouble
And chant it several times
And then I let my phone lie
But, my hand subconsciously reaches for it, again

The Nighttime

cw: none

The canary likes to count the stars
and dream about being up there.
At night, when it is supposed to sleep,
it calls the stars its friends
and dreams of
soft, gentle hands
that never hurt.

Hour 10: What is Love?

What is love?

What a ridiculous question!

What a ridiculous, unanswerable question!

Love is a many splendid thing

It is both ancient and timeless

It knows no age, no bias, no gender, no bounds

Love is limitless

The limit does not exist

Love is not something to be found, it just shows up

In its own time, in its own place, on its own terms

And it leaves in much the same way

You can not lock it up or force it to stay

You can not run away from it, you can not run to it

It is a race you can not win

Love is contrary and contradictory

Slow burning-explosive

Mutual-unrequited

Platonic-passionate

Terrifying- exhilarating

Joyous- heartbreaking

The dictionary defines love as “an intense feeling of affection”

Let’s just go with that….

Hour 11: Drowning Victim

You are never supposed to hold out your hand

To someone who is drowning

Because they will pull you down with them

When death is staring you in the face

You will take hold of anything you can

Just to stay afloat

And it does not matter

If you hold it beneath the water

As long as you can breathe

I thought I could save you

Not realizing

You already knew how to swim

And just wanted someone

To hold beneath the waves

Heart Engagement

Give me beet

I bet to make a tea

with spicy coffee taste

Check your jacket

I bet you get a penny

to pay for my service

Relax no tremor

I bet not to worry

if you can’t get a dime

Be the bayou

I bet not to stir

through your status

Brace your elbow

I bet it give a curve

firmly like a ligament

Glance the lightbulb

I bet you get a flash

brighten up your sight

Talk about cinnamon

I bet to gain a lot

from the word you say

Take this bucket

I bet it made of wood

rigid pieces of work

Find me an elk

I bet to see it antler

of the beast family

Move to the carport

I bet you get a lift

going to your street
