Hour 24: Villanelle

Never lose hope in better days,

It helps us through the darkest times,

Dreaming with your eyes open with your faith on display,

Blessed you are, count the ways,

Don’t fall into the emotional traps,

Never lose hope in better days,

Hope reminds you that something better awaits,

Amidst the perils of life,

Dreaming with your eyes open with your faith on display,

You’ve got to give God praise,

and keep your faith,

Never lose hope in better days,

The plans for you is known, you just have to pray,

Make it happen; don’t worry about any delays,

Dreaming with your eyes open with your faith on display,

Opportunity awaits; go and be great,

The desire in you, it’s a learned trait,

Never lose hope in better days,

Dreaming with your eyes open with your faith on display.

Hour20

Don’t tell me what to do,

I can’t bear it and

You know it well!

Just fill my void!

If you can…

Hour 21 : Running

Running through the pages of haves and have-nots,

promising in the mother tongue,

escaping the reality,

dreams are filled with the sequences of running.

Everyday Villainy

Time is a thief
that keeps taking us by surprise.
Or hiding key aspects of what it knows about us
and what we keep forgetting.

Schedules are fuel to burn.
Intentions a Super Highway of high-speed chases
that never get on the news.

I’d like to meet my younger self and
tell her she had the right idea
before she hit the snooze alarm
for five years.

Hope

Hour 12

Where there is hope, there is life

Where there is hope, there is faith

Where there is hope, there is courage

With faith, courage and life we can achieve unachievable

With hope we can think big

If we think big then only can we work on it’s behalf

With our spirits uplifted we can walk the path of success

Hope also brings confidence

Self confidence helps to set realistic expectations and goals

But if you don’t have hope

You will be scared to step forward and do something new

Hope is like the first ray of Sun

Just when we think the darkness will never go

A single ray of Sun

Drives the darkness not only outside but also from within

To the Nurse Who Held my Son

The nurse who held my son all day

when he was going to leave the hospital

I wonder if she was thinking

about me

or the adoptive parents who would be arriving

that day to take my son home with them

I wonder if she held him all day

because she knew this day would be

the hardest on me

Maybe she did it

so he would be calm

and make it easier on us

2023 Poem Twenty One

Estrangement

noun.

A state of separation in hopes everyone involved takes inventory of their life.

The act of giving up hope of a better past.

A time of question if the choices I made were right or if I could have done better.

A firm boundary.

A cry for help after a succession of missed or ignored attempts to ask for help.

A period of unknown amounts of time.

Hour19

Is she whimsical like the weather?

Does she hug and kiss as I did?

Is your new lover better in any way?

It’s over! But can I have a last kiss

from your sweet and sour lips? 💋

Hour 20 : Brewberry

Coffee is my favourite time of the day.

The froth of 1000 eyes, gives me perspective to deal with beings.

The amalgamation of granules and milk gives out the message,

that we all have the same coloured blood flowing inside us.
