Prompt nine

Legs and eyes

Nothing in between

Looks that kill

Silk raven hair shining in the dark

Lures you in

Powerless

You are hooked

No intention of forever

Yet there is no return

Just a night

Just a taste

Fear not my friend

You are not the first

Nor the last

To cross this widow and her insatiable appetite

Dreaming

If he could know

if he could see,

if he could sense

what’s in my thoughts.

He knows how many

want him now.

fame revealed just

so much how.

I’d stroke his hair

look in his eyes,

since I can dream

I’ll make him mine.

Break Neck Speed (Hour 4)

BREAK NECK SPEED

Life moves at break neck speed,
full throttle, balls to the wall, waiting for no one.
So why should I?
I’ve spent most of my life putting others first, silencing my heart,
dying to the dreams coursing through my blood, pouring out of my soul,
so that they could live and embrace their dreams.
Always out of love, never out of obligation.
But how quickly they forget and move on, though I never forget them.

Full throttle, balls to the wall, waiting for no one, I am a train.
A train leaving and entering each station,
slowing down only to allow people to jump on board.
If you’re going my way, what are you waiting for? Jump!
If you want to be a part of my journey, my life,
then find the courage and take a leap of faith!
The invitation is sent, but I can’t stop, I can’t brake, I can’t wait,
for those who don’t know what they want.

Find the courage and take a leap of faith, I’m not as scary as you think.
Tell your insecurities to shut up! You’re good enough just as you are!
We can run the same race, as friends, not competitors.
If I spend time with you, or if I want to, I already think you’re amazing.
I’ve already said enough goodbyes for a thousand lifetimes. No more.
But I am no fool – I read between the lines and silence says everything.
I see the truth and will not accept fickle behavior.
You are free to stay and free to go.

Life moves at break neck speed, so I’m making up for lost time.
But don’t just believe the highlight reel of my smile,
there’s always more to every life, a thousand facets like a diamond.
I dare you to see my eyes, my soul, the abyss that is my mind.
I dare you to see the darkness that lies within me, without running away.
I can see in the dark and help you find your way,
I can light up the darkness with a single word, or sit in it for awhile.
Just remember, I am always free to stay and free to go.

— Saskia Lynge / Hour 4

The Fear

The darkness creeps over me,
but it is something I can never see.
The way people look at me,
I wonder what they see??
The real me?

Black Widow

Often, Black Widow, you emerge

seemingly from the walls

in the damp, dark,

undisturbed coal room.

You couldn’t just enter

the room. No,

your eight legs swift

in spurts of three.

One-two-three.

Stop.

One-two-three.

Stop.

Your pregnant belly

swollen.

The red hour glass

pulsating.

Who were you looking for?

Sexual cannibalism, lusting

for your next victim.

Venom sloshing

in your glands.

Vibration.

You play dead.

He approaches.

You flick silk.

Tenderly,

liquefying

his organs

through fangs

so deep.

Poem 4: Patterns

checkered shirt, checkered past

heart shaped buttons, heart of gold

sunflower print pants, sunny disposition

diamond studded skulls, diamonds in her eyes

clothing, personality

fashion,

an inverted telescope of the soul

into the world

Spider of depression

Once there was a happy fly,
Roaming here, hopping there,
One day a spider saw her
Slowly, steadily moving towards the fly
The spider took her in the grip of her eight legs
As the first leg tightened, the fly lost concentration
The second one took her energy
The third made her aware of her helplessness
With the fourth leg on her, the fly became hopeless
Inability to sleep was the fifth gift of the spider to the fly
She did not want to do the things she liked, and that was the sixth gift to the fly by the spider
She became more and more sad about her condition and this was the gift of the seventh leg of the spider
As the eighth leg started gripping her,the fly herself wanted to die
And hence the spider of depression fulfilled her last wish by ending the worst journey of her life

Poem 9: Arachnophobia

Terror,
the scratch of thin,
chitinous,
way-too-many
legs
across porous drywall.

Breath
hissing,
coating my tongue
in whisper-light webs.

Panic,
skittering and skating
through my belly
and across my chest,
strumming taut muscles and
gnawing the back of my eyes.
My teeth rattle
in counterpoint.

Words,
some hyperbolic,
others too cutesy to cause any harm.
Anything but The Word,
with its six letters and
two syllables,
because six plus two
equals eight.

Frozen,
I am alone, envenomed,
cocooned in a shuddering,
leaking,
shivering,
sobbing
slab of quivering flesh.

Hour eight

Would you never

Would you never

try to seek

everything thou left to

me? Would you never tell

me thy

existence was based on this love?

Form- Golden shovel
(Never seek to tell thy love by William Blake)

8 RESPECT

It is not to be asked

It is earned, given without being asked to

Respect begets respect

You asked and it will served to you, reluctantly

You don’t yet it will be handed to you without qualms

And (not) vice versa.

Giving respect to one who’s disrespectable

Is quite a dilemma, really

But sometimes it is necessary

To show one’s breeding and a bit of civility

Or common courtesy, perhaps?

Still, respect is the ammunition

Of one who is disrespectful

A dilemma indeed
