Hour Nine

If I write it
it will come,
tingle at my forehead,
crawl over my ear.
These days
I walk calmly from the room
I don’t run from

the miniscule body of great fear.

Prompt #9 (Spider Poem – couldn’t help myself)

I sit in my bathtub,
after a long hard day
to soak in my tired bones.
Just then, I come across
an arachnid with 8 legs
making its way peacefully
to weave a golden orb.

Spidey spidey
your golden orb
is a work of art
glistening in the sun,
you lay the trap
to catch your prey.

Spidey spidey
what did your web catch?
I hope your web was strong enough to latch…

Poem 3: Cuppa Tea

Nothing as perfect

as a steaming up of tea

in thin, transparent china,

thrown against a wall.

Nothing as exquisite

as a pretty in pink petit fours

on a rose bespeckled platter

smashed into a pillow

or a vase of white roses

ripped apart like paper.

Why a tempest in a teapot?

Why not a teapot in the tempest?

prompt #9 ~ spider

in the window sill

threadlike remains of eight legs

colour leached by light

eight eyes will not see again

a tiny web hangs, tattered

Inside out

Inside out

Showing you all I don’t want anyone to see

I am going to tell you about me

I am sensitive and sad

I cry I get mad

I smile to take you out

Because I am dying from inside out

I have a disease a discomfort everyday

I am saying things I never thought I would say

I tried to kill myself to ease up the pain

It did not work only added more shame

It took months to see why I never died

To see why all those nights I have cried

I needed love and acceptance I thought I need it from you

As time goes on I realised it you that put me through

Doubt shame hate and pushed them on me you won

I realised trying to love you just was no fun.

I walked away and the strangest things started to open up

I all of a sudden seen this half full amazing cup

I don’t need you to love me I need to love me

I don’t need you at all I just could not see.

I let you go I started to live again even if only until bipolar knocks me down

And kicks me around

But I now know I am loved and still don’t need you

I am thankful for all that you have put me through .

(a tanka)

fat orb weaver
squatting in her web
trapping and wrapping
a soft plucking from the edge
announces a tiny doomed suitor

Prompt 9

Unshaven hairs

prickle against my soul

Legs carnivorous

as they walk

Gnawing at my fear

I wiggle and jig about

as my dark skin

turns warm to the touch

Poem 9

Breathe in
Let goodness fill your lungs
Let hope rejuvenate your body
Let wonder enter your brain
Breathe out
Let hatred leave you lungs
Let anxiety flood out of your body
Let doubt exit your brain
