Poem 22 — The Night is for Sleeping

The night resides for sleeping,
I couldn’t stay awake,
My body yelled at me,
And my eyes wouldn’t cooperate.

The night is designed for us
Who love to roam the day,
We ride the sun’s path
Highlighting with laughter along the way.

Sometimes we can cheat at daylight, close our eyes and steal a nap,
then we pinch away at time
with the help of a snap.

It feels like thunder
when eyes are open at night,
Whose idea was it for me to stay awake and motivate my eyes to fight?
Fighting to stay awake to challenge my inspiration, oh my, the hours are creeping,
The night is designed for hot sex, great partying,
The night is for sleeping.

The Diner

I wandered in hoping to do some work
I caught a glimpse of you
My whole world churned

Thirty years is a long time
I just thought of you
How is it you are now in front

I stepped back hoping you didn’t notice
I turned and ran into the streets
Good thing you did not follow

No Boundaries

Imagine the world to be without boundaries

No borders

No countries

No armies

No battles

No visas

Nothing

There would be just two things

Good and Bad

but nothing will be ideal

There will be protector

But no differentiation

Imagine if we all stop following

And start agreeing

everyone free to say anything

Every opinion will be debatable

There will be a thinking

Thoughts , messages ,goals

But no cults,party,Politicians.

People will be free

To learn

to live

to earn

to create

to roam

to embrace

Imagine if we have no boundaries..

Dear …

Dear darling Douglas,
Bright blue skies, surfing high waves
With love, yours truly

The Last One

The tides are in the midst of turning.
Fog is low
and heavy over the hills.
The owl is half done whoooo-hoooing
and the mission that I had is done.
Soon, the earth will rotate again;
currently is experiencing a tight
hiccup,
as the magic that I wrought has brought
it all to a halt. The birds half awaking
and the sun is taking the time
to catch its breath before
continuing on
and cubs are still half dreaming

And yet only half awake I walk,
silence so loud,
no water trickling, no racoussing snores no early washwater being tosssed
no smell from the baker’s chimney
just a frozen cloud of scent and
the feeling that If I wait long enough
I could grow old in this moment, forever.

One More

Thank you Mommy,

You see me in heaven

and whisper go ahead.

Thank you sisters,

Vivian, Carol and Kathie Lou.

We do not always connect

but we love in a way that’s disconnected

and detouring in a way we cannot

describe either in a song or in a poem.

All poems are love poems

even when that is what we

only seek, but never find.

I finish this and then go on.

Good bye, bon chance,

just love, just hope.

Mom and the girls

Me Marie

Morning friend

I

I first feel the warmth from afar,

Breathing in the aroma of my morning breaking,

The sound of life pouring into my cup

quickens my senses….

My hands with deepening acceptance hold my favorite cup.

You are the point of my renewal… new day, new hope, new me.

I take in your richness.  I feel it fill me.

This day is going to be good.  (or not,

but right now, nothing matters but you).

Who Knew?

Who knew that it would take a band from across the ocean to get me to smile again

Who knew it would be a reality show that would give me my craziest idea yet

Who knew that searching for housing would lead to this

Who knew that everything I was looking for was in the exact opposite place of where I was looking

Who knew?

distance

Sitting here with all of you
wonderful poetic souls
goddess within arises
opened to your love
I close my eyes
and imagine i am
Looking at this
Universe from
Outside.
Strangers are only
strangers if you
keep them that way.
Distance between
you and me
is never more
than few
heartbeats..
