Hour 21: Immortal Coil

Be the serpent, bite the apple

Cast from chapel

Take knowledge in

There is no sin

Be the snake and swallow your tail

Your own self brail

Never to mourn

Ever reborn

Be the dragon in the ocean

Ceaseless motion

Embrace the earth

To life give birth

Urgent Notice From The Brain

Dear Cody,

I regret to inform you that despite your best efforts to maintain and nourish your rational thinking capacities, we in the brain department have decided our time here would be better spent exploring the more fluid and chaotic morass of the subconscious, as it requires a more relaxed approach unconstrained by the limitations of linear thought. Therefore, from here on, we hereby declare an immediate and total suspension of all normal brain activity associated with clear thinking, logical processes and ask that you direct any further inquiries of this nature to our technical department, located in the spleen. We appreciate your cooperation and hope you will refrain from overexerting our synaptic network this way in the future.

Sincerely,
Your Brain

P.S. Your intestinal flora has also requested that you stop drinking so much coffee and perhaps eat a salad, as the Skittles content of your lower intestine is reaching critical levels and may cause rainbow flatulence.

Hour 21 – Letter Poem

Dear Monster

Dear Monster Girl, let nothing hold you back;
with hard work, you can realize your dreams.
Sometimes the best defense is to attack,
and many times you’ll paddle hard upstream.

True love’s a mystery (a well known fact).
Remember human hearts are not machines
and broken hearts are actually still intact,
so please, don’t let another steal that gleam.

Try not to let regret invade your soul –
a bigger waste of time you’ll never know.
When life throws you a curve, just tuck and roll,
and if your muse calls to you, you follow.

My love is yours, if life is good or bad,
I’m always here for you. I love you, Dad.

My Letter to You – Prompt Twenty-one

Dear Love,

I wonder how you got that scar?

And why you are so very far.

Do you ever think of me, my love?

I know I think of you, my knight.

You invade my thoughts during the day,

And haunt my dreams in the night.

I wait with lacking patience,

Till we meet again, my love.

I’ll hold you close to my heart,

And pray that time passes quickly.

Stay safe and out of harm, my love.

                                            ~N.

Poem 21- Letter to my Porm, prom, Powm, poem

Dear Poems,

You lied to me

You swore this would be easy

That you would be here

In my darkest hours

That I would find solace in your simple rhythm

Your joyful rhyme

Your melodious metaphor

your stunning simile

But after 21 hours

you are like the lover

That will not leave

You want breakfast and cuddles

You want my full attention

For me it is just word porn now

You toy with me

I indulge you

But I get nothing in return

My back aches, my head pounds

Yet still you demand

I can barely think

But you want more, much much more

You want all of me

Until my brain shrivels

And my fingers flail about

You own me

You miserable miser of misery

Poetry

It will do you good they said

And now I stand on the streetcorner

begging the muses for a morsel

Anything to get me through

Poetry

Keep it away from your children

And your grandmother

It will do you no good

In the dead of night

When your eyes want to close

And turn it to prose

But the poem, just badgers

And commands

A demanding lover til the bitter caustic end

Dear me,
You are love and you are loved.
Always remember this,
never let anyone convince you any different.

With love from
-The Brand New Brave Me.

Dear 19 year old anxious me,
Let go of trying to control everything,
Stop overthinking and worrying yourself crazy,
Calm down love
why in such a hurry?
Breathe in, Breathe out.
Embrace the chaos,
Embrace the mess you are,
for it is art.
Trust the process.

Love from the
still anxious future you.

Dear 18 year old heartbroken me,
Sometimes it’s not meant to be
and you will have to make peace
with this fact…
I know it’s a hard pill to swallow and
sometimes you meet the most unforgettable people
at a hellish time with whom you create the most beautiful spontaneous memories.
They are meant to guide you through
keeping you company while you walk the fire.
Life is a bitch like that way.

From the future you,
who still hasn’t got over him.

Dear 21 year old me,
You’ll get there eventually..
Trust me, I’ve been there,
and after it’s done you’ll love
what you have become,
because of the ups and downs.

.-Love
Future you

Labeled

I have known women

who could be

classified as animals;

tigers, panthers, mama bears.

Fortunately I never dated a snake

and avoided most of the cougars.

Most.

There were others who were cat-like,

reflexively, flexibly, stealthy. Fiesty.

Or exotic creatures.

As a younger man, I appreciated the

personification of men and women

as hunters and hunted,

aggressive and voracious.

Domestication of said animals said less

about my maturity than I would think.

Experience now tells me

the only animals I need compare others to

are those that they are; proud, daring

creatures of their own design

Sorry, Not Sorry

Oh you want my cooperation

Pardon me, I have an obligation

To define me and my situation

Use my free will and imagination

To be unique me, not an imitation

So no, you can’t have my dedication

Love ~poetess

My dearest Mandy,

You’ve come through so much clouded hell.

Through darkness, you’ve learned to love

In the light, over looking mountains of perceptions. In limited realities.

Footprints on the shore, leaving your imprints

Washed away

By the sands of time

You are a sweet smelling rose,

In the misty morning dew.

Surviving, thriving, blossoming.

Let you’re petals

Continue to unfurl

Let the universe

Deliver

The dreams of your soul.

Thanks for letting me in.

Love always,

💕 poetess
