The New Red

A concrete forest’s Red Riding Hood
has enlisted her helpers.
Who better than sly red trickster fox
to sniff round corners, in building stoops
for shifty wolves?
Who better than big black bear
to shelter and protect?
Off to Granny’s they go.

Picture this #20

Imagine if you will a fox brilliant and beautiful walking down a street,

right on a sidewalk, behind him a painted building wonderfully neat,

With trees and flowers to enhance the already stunning view,

I have more to describe , my eyes tell me that it is true,

There are two following the fox, it is quite a unique pair,

For it looks to be a blonde girl about 6, with a large black bear,

All three walk with confidence and a sense of pride,

It is a amazing view to see, they all have a stride,

The little girl with the bear wears red and looks like Goldilocks,

Everyone looks like they have a sense of purpose especially the fox.

Prompt 20

Coalition

Three friends set out on a search for fun
Late on a summer day,
Bruno the bear and Sally the girl,
While Reynard the fox leads the way.

The plants have gone old but the walls still bloom
And the colors show them the way.
They know where to travel, they know what to do,
Late on a summer day.

They sing and they dance,
They laugh and they play,
Until daylight’s ending
Takes them away.

When I think~ I think of you

(and think of you I must)

I think about the way you looked

(you last looked at me)

Coalition of Seekers

Artwork-by-Kevin-Peterson-9-1200x492

My journey has taken my pet fox and I many places in search our lost family,
past spray painted graffiti,
forests of lively green trees,
we picked up the bear in the forest,
she’s lost someone,
lost friends,
lost relatives,
we search together,
a coalition of seekers,
the one with the best nose leads,
must be close to someone,
anticipation of finding,
in the thicket?
possibly,
we will go that way.

How are you? – Prompt Nineteen

How are you?

Asked the cheerful lady,

Living in 309 down the hall.

How are you?

Eyed the watchful doorman,

As he opened the doors.

How are you?

Grumbled my stern boss,

He just kept walking by.

How are you?

The waitress politely inquired,

Her smile screamed hidden hate.

How are you?

Questioned the nosy old woman,

Despite the answer, she asked again.

Tired from all the how are you,

I only cared for one above all.

That was my joyful dog,

Licking my day away.

Exhaustion

Eyes drooping and face shadowed by sleep

and still hours of creativity to sweep

limbs chained down

with new words that I juggle around

dragging around a body made of lead

I ignore the temptations of my bed

and struggle on, battle conviction

graced by all forms of poetry, prose and fiction.

lego blocks

Little brightly colored blocks

Eagerly I play with you
