Greetings bridges to life

Coming home from work

A tiny jubilant voice from a kid

Saying “ Welcome Home Papa!”

Embracing his father as kid giggles in pure elation

Receiving something yet unexpected

One surely uttered “ Thank you” with sheer gusto

Complemented with “You’re most welcome “

Life common phrases bridges people to another

Simple deeds can spell outbound any thousand pains  in humanity

How gracious humanity a day is today

Indeed one may surely uttered “ have a nice day!”

What do you see?

Look at the sun,

What do you see?

The star,

God

Feel heat

or a motivator?

Which tells you

That one will always rise again!

Look at the moon

What do you see?

A lover,

A satellite

Feel nice

or strength ?

Which tells you

No matter how dark the night is

One is capable of lighting it up!

Look at the sky,

What do you see?

The blue color,

Birds

Clouds

or possibilities ?

Which tells you

That the scope is infinite

One may dream anything

The opportunities are wide spread

Keep looking for them.

Look into your heart

What do you see

Your lover,

Memories,

Some locked boxes

or hope?

Which tells you

That love and kindness are immense in it

Your love can overcome any hatred in the world

You must spread it

Because your love

Your heart

Can save the world!

BLACK WALNUTS

my least favorite garden garnishment
to harvest;
unlike pecans which just fall from the tree ready to crack,
black walnuts grow in thick green coats,
that turn black when mature;
the only way to harvest the delectable snack is to
peel that dark, staining coat off the nut.

My hands turned black and it was as permanent as
thick tar or black paint and just as unpleasant as anything
I can recall as I think over all the things we harvested;

but nothing can replace the memories of the great desserts
that showcased these nutty fruits.

Mariokart

Destroying friendship
As we scream and throw
Red shells at each other

Mariokart a staple of
How much time we once have

Hours on end
Dodging banana peels

The best of childhood

Best Friend

A best friend is one who knows just what you need

in times of need

without a single word spoken.

A best friend is one to try all they can,

over and over again

to try to fix what ever has you broken.

A best friend knows when to be selfless and put

the one they love in front.

One who knows when it is there own turn to weep

that same friend for them will hold the brunt.

Prompt 18 – Pounce

Soft pads lightly stalked
Across the forest floor
As black fur blended
Into shadows of the undergrowth,
Hiding the small predator from its target.

What little light remained
From a clouded moon
Shone on sharp,
Golden eyes on a dormouse locked –
Perfect for a snack.

Pointed snout
Holding sharp fangs
Polished by a
Slick tongue,
Hungry for prey –

The fox pounced
And claimed its prize.

NINETEEN

The girl in the apartment upstairs
vacuumed every day — the burr
and clatter of the building’s Hoover
racketing across wood floor, linoleum,
bumping baseboards — the thump of wheels
running over the sill between rooms —
the motor hum and vibration —
that was all I ever knew of her.
I tried to picture her, thought I might
meet her one day at the mailboxes,
say something nice about her clean floor
as the dust bunnies waited silently
beneath my bed.
