14 HARD TO LET GO

MELANCHOLIC, YES

NOSTALGIC, YES

BUT ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, I’VE HAD HAPPY AND SAD MEMORIES OF YOU TO BE CHERISHED AND TO FOREGO ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

AN EDIFICE OF HURT, LONELINESS, GUT-WRENCHING PROBLEMS

BUT A CITADEL OF CAMARADERIE, SHARING, HUMANITY, COMPANIONSHIP, JOY, RESPECT, AND OF COURSE, LOVE.

A HAVEN FOR EVERY ONE, A REFUGE FOR SO MANY, A LOVE NEST TO SOME,

A FALL-BACK FOR ME.

BUILT, NURTURED BY THE GREAT DAME ( AND WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE THAT SHE STILL ROAMS ITS NOOKS AND CRANNIES )

NOT TO BE OUTDONE THE HEIRESS-TO-THE-THRONE PURSUED AND TOOK THE CUDGELS FROM HER

FOR WHAT YOU ARE NOW, COMPLIMENTS TO THESE TWO NO-NONSENSE PERSONA.

YEARS PASSED, PEOPLE COME AND GO

THINGS MATERIALIZED, THINGS LOST

PETS LIVED AND PERISHED

PLANTS DIED, REROOTED, DIED AGAIN

YOU STOOD ALL THESE, STRONG AND UNYIELDING

PROVING TO ALL AND SUNDRY – A FORCE TO RECKON WITH.

AM I SAYING GOODBYE? THAT EASY? I WISH NOT

AN OCCUPANT OF A SOLITARY CELL

BEFITTING A QUEEN AND A TRAMP

CAN I AFFORD TO SAY GOODBYE?

A PACT WITH THE HEIRESS-TO-THE-THRONE –

NO TO LETTING GO.

YOU WERE THERE FOR ME, AND STILL IS

WELCOMED ME WITH YOUR CRACKS AND MILDEW

WITH YOUR COBWEBS AND DUST

WITH YOUR AGING BOARDS AND WALLS

BUT STILL THERE FOR ME.

THE STRONG FEELING OF ONENESS

THE URGE TO SING AND DANCE

OUR PERFECT HARMONY

NO, NOT A FAT CHANCE, BIG GUY

I’M NOT SAYING GOODBYE, WE ARE NOT SAYING GOODBYE

I AM SAYING HI AND HELLO, NOW, TOMORROW AND THE YEARS TO FOLLOW.

THAT I OWE YOU

YOU’LL BE SEEING ME, US, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR DON’T

AU REVOIR. .

Rushing

What am I doing… trying to fill the room with sage and bibles and yoga mats and space, I need space, so more things are going to those that have not, I need space, clarity and unmarked carpet… I need space and so I rush to empty out and start new…

See if I care

You just couldn’t let it go.

I knew you would do this

because you always do.

I spit out nothing but the truth.

And you still didn’t believe it

You just couldn’t let it go

See if I care.

I don’t give a shit about you.

I spit out nothing but the truth

You want to be a miserable bitch for the

rest of your life? Fine. Go ahead.

See if I care.

Hour fourteen- The Skull with the Daisy

The graying clouds had overcome the sun

Leaving it dreary and depressed

Glad to have the heat calmed

I knew rain wouldn’t be far behind

The hike had been long

And I was sore

But I hastened my stride

Not wanting to be out late or

Too Long

I tripped

A rock had rolled onto the path

I had not seen it.

My face falling into the dirt

I looked around

The trail was deserted

No one to help. I tried to stand

I failed

I laid, giving in to the frustration for just a moment

I would try again

My eyes caught something. It was white.

I pulled my attention closer

Pulled myself up as best I could

And crawled towards it

My leg was bleeding

But my face turned ashen

A skull, human, picked clean

Just off the trail

A single daisy growing up through it

Not too far away other bones

I thought of the missing women

The missing hikers

The missing girlfriends

Whose bodies were never found

I grabbed my phone

There was no signal

I tore a sleeve from my shirt

And wrapped my leg

I stood up, wobbly

I grabbed anything I could to mark the spot

Rocks, branches, making a circle

Around the skull

Around the place

I began to walk the trail again

Trying to remember each clue

To where I was

The skull image blistering my brain.

I pushed myself

Pulled myself. down the mountain

down to the end of the trail

everyone was gone

Only I remained

The sun setting

I reached for my phone

A small signal

I called for help

The answer never came

A moment later

a whack, my head screaming in pain

I hit the dirt again

I looked up

His full body a giant above me

A log in hand, he hit me again

and again and again

My skull would never grow a daisy

My picture would be on a poster

I also rest

In an unmarked grave

Just off the trail

A reminder to women

Never hike alone

Hour 11: Nihilistic Part III.

and we circle back, a routine, suffering in a broken hymnal.

a serpent ate your fruit,

punished you in your desolate lands,

stuck you out in the garden against the burning sun,

to think you had all the bones and all the gold between your fingers,

shuffling the universe in your hands,

you hold infinity as a lover,

claim that duality was still despair,

darkness met your light and fucked it until there was nothing left,

nothing matters, we exist, in this temporary state,

but I am blessed in diamond skin, wincing at the thought of never finding eternity.

I see weakness glide off your skin, you hold me in the wind, and say do not go, but do not stay,

I crave every opportunity, when you stole my eyes and told me to see something bigger than this,

but you say nothing exists in color.

a serpent keeps stealing you, eating your fruit,

and plucking hope from your mouth,

I doubt the ruling of this land,

our garden flourishes but you demand a desert, I cannot give you that,

when there is still so much to offer.

we have left this land in favor of growth,

come follow me into the 5th dimension,

steal all the prayers, and turn away and give nothing back.

Poem 14 — Confusion & Hallucinations

Can you hear that??
The mailbox was talking,
What is going on?
The gas in my car
Got mad and started walking.
Knock! Knock! I heard at the door,
What a sight before fuchsia eyes!
I can’t take this anymore.
A big black tree smiled wearing breath smelling like thunder,
Who told him where I lived?
As I scratched my grassy eyes and clinched my purple teeth in wonder.

“I don’t have to tolerate this”,
Said all the faces on each bill,
“Stop talking to me”, I wanted to add,
But I said nothing, if only looks did kill.
“Come on and go with me!”
I exclaimed to the potholes,
Hold my shoes until I put my heart back in the rainbow of gold.
Thinking about you, my lovely bridge
Causes me weakness and frustration,
Now I’m full of deep confusion,
And all these hallucinations.

A gardening tiger

Everything happen in a blur

First, I saw a tiger walking towards me, with his buff upper body, strode through that alley

I should have mentioned his face first – it was a fierce and angry looking face

Probably because he was forced to wear ylang flower at between his ear

Three steps before me, he stopped side-way, forwarded the ylang flower at me and went back his way

Of all the acts and gestures he made, I was only attracted at his stealing a glance at me before he showed me his back

As if he’s saying, “I appear like a tiger, but my heart is filled with ylang. So much that I can plucked one from my heart to give it to you…”

A Poem

As I sit down to write this poem for you

It is filled with mostly lies along with half truths

It just wouldn’t be exciting

if on my life I was writing

Because in my life the truth is I seldom do

So I write of all the adventures that I’ve had

From far off trips on rocket ships

To the places that I land

Laying it all out line by line

In exciting verse with enticing rhyme

This poem mixed with mostly lies and half truths

That I sat down and just wrote out for you

taking care of mother #14

taking care of mother

it’s not always sad you know

it’s not always gloom

just look at all the flowers

and ponder the pearl moon

the oceans speak of flashes

their colors out of view

the beetle bugs and fireflies

they know just what to do

sometimes it seems so crazy

this world that comes from man

but if you take a few steps back

you’ll see a bigger plan

all seasons come and always leave

the plants know when to grow

the rain and sun will do their work

the streams and rivers flow

perhaps we’ll be forgotten

after all the mess we’ve made

but nature knows to clean her house

with all her gifts handmade

if we want to stay around this place

it’s time we showed some sense

by taking care of mother earth

and come to her defense

you matter in this struggle

don’t turn the other cheek

speak up for what’s important

or no doubt our future’s bleak
