my cyclamen is still alive
believe me it’s a miracle
the second flush of flowers bloom
all pink and poised and lyrical
its perfect little potted place
is perched above the microwave
beside a friendly maidenhair
fern of a feather misbehave
the sun through grimy window casts
filtered sunlight on their leaves
their artificial man made home
has beauty only a plant perceives
Praise be to the king of kings
The Lord our God he is wonderful
Great are you Lord
You are worthy to be praise
Their is no one greater than you Lord
You are the greatest
Bless your holy name
We call you faithful
Your name is faithful

Un-natural nature enables
Chemical toxins to enter the food chain.
Normalizing cancers and disorders
Exploiting the exploitable
Corrupting the corruptible
Monopolizing the conversation
Sickening and weakening
Nature evolves slower
Than corporations make money.
Pine Trees
A beautiful winter scene
Red cardinals resting on a snow kissed
Pine tree
Breathtaking;
Perhaps on a Hallmark card
But not in my backyard
Pine trees roots
Spread and decimate
My lawn
Ruining backyard
Soccer games,
Tag,
And Hide-and-Go Seek,
Tripping victims
With its infectious
Roots
Beautiful winter scene?
I say, “Hack up its roots!”
My life matters.
I am not concerned about life after death,
but filling life before death with life, real life, life abundant tamped down and overflowing,
Life so sweet it makes my blood sing like a child at play.
Your life matters.
Make it matter to yourself for yourself, you are the one you answer to.
That life matters.
That person, that tree, that gorilla in the zoo,
each is a rare and endangered species worth preserving, in need of honor and preservation.
Of course Black Lives Matter, as do the brown, the crazed, the homeless, the gay, the random dude on random drugs, all of whom are marginalized into nothingness without a conscious effort.
Why should you be so fragile that it troubles you that people think it needs to be said.
My life matters, to your and me and they.
Your life matters, to me and you and they.
Their lives matter, to they and you and me.
If you have a problem, get over it.
#prompt 14, natural environment with unnatural environment
The old mansion lay
At the end of road
Haunted, said many
Whose thinking was not broad
Rich history that surrounded
Warmness that seeped
Tainted by superstition
Years of stories reaped
Insides dark
And full of terror
Outside as summer plays
It become nature’s bearer
Climbers cling to stone
Wild flowers every corner
Sun glints off window
No sign of master former
The moss covered concrete
Tree house in the old tree
Nohuman to ruin
Nature here is free
There may come one day
A life in these old lanes
For now it retains
A human creation without chains
Have you seen my little baby?
My little girl?
With eyes that carry an ocean of
emptiness and sadness.
And a broken smile
that will make you cry.
With hair that is the color of darkness
And a fragile frame that holds 120 pounds.
With skin that looks bathed in fresh cream.
With the brokenness of a falling angel
and damage that only made her more beautiful.
She was last seen entering the mist
If anyone finds her, tell her mama loves her
and is waiting for her.
The house for generations stood,
Gently cared for
Now lays abandoned
Four decades, that’s where they stayed
Where they shared, cried, laughed and played.
Ivy has taken over the south side
Growing under the easements
Leaving nothing to hide
Its covered up the windows
Taken over the rain gutter spouts
Twisting and climbing, trying to block it out
The walkway now over grown with weeds
Wild flowers and dandelions,
spill their sacred seed
The driveway now cracked and uprooted,
The tree that was planted, too closely suited
The house sad now, cries out
Why did the family leave
