Little dove
Don’t worry about your destination
Your wings are strong enough
Despite what you’ve been told
You carry the weight of the universe
In your feathers
Yet the upward motion comes
As easy as the rising sun

Little dove
All will be well
Despite what the news projects
You carry the potential for peace
In your beating heart

Don’t let the world bring you down
You belong in the clouds

Dear Technology

Dear Technology,

I know I love you but I hate you just the same

Because you aid me everyday but I hear some news of shame

Things you made easy are made lost far quickly

I love you but I hate you I’m so torn can’t you see

I know you are good but I know you too are bad

You connect people who are apart and part those close at hand

Products come so quick yet quick too they ran out

You are good yet you are bad you cause my broken heart

You are like “black and white”

You are like “near or far”

You are like “hot and cold”

Or an angel in disguise

You are like “sinner or a saint”

You are like “angel or a devil”

You are like “soft and hard”

Cause of you I feel bad

But you are the “drink moderately” in every liqour

You are the “danger to the health” in every puffing pack

I will take you in moderation, little by little, drop by drop

Then maybe I will love you with all of my heart.

Love,

Naida N. Supnet

Don’t Forget Me

Don’t leave me out,
I am part of the celebration too,
Don’t leave me out,
Because when they hurt,
I hurt too.
I am only a child,
Yet I bear the pressure,
The pressure of being a preacher’s kid,
I see the laboring,
The time spent,
Interceding relentlessly,
For the body of believers,
Yet they still care for me.
I am the twinkle in their eye,
The best gift they ever received,
And no matter where they are,
They’ll always think of me!
Don’t forget about me,
Although my steps maybe small,
I am the fiercest of them all,
Walking boldly in the foundation they have laid for me,
Not afraid to ask God for anything! While they look after you,
I ask God to let mommy and daddy rest too,
They are training me while I’m young,
So my anointing,
my Holy oil is strong!
Don’t forget about me,
As big or as little as I may be,
I was chosen,
To make them laugh,
To make them smile,
To brighten up the day,
When all they have done is cried.
I am a preacher’s kid,
Fulfilling my destiny,
Showering them with the love,
That only a child could give!

the words
the carpentry
the structure of logic
the solid scaffold of grammar
this is the magic of technology
the texture, the well-wrought pattern

Crime Shows

I love to watch the crime shows,

It’s so intense.

I like the guys in uniforms and who carry guns and badges,

It really makes no sense.

I live to watch it everyday or as much as I can,

To see the brain and braun of a good looking man.

The Hearing

Yes, I hear you…
Playing that crap so loud.
No respect for a neighbor…
In these new age times.

No, I’m not really old…
Love that good old rock and roll;
Just not mixed with your anthem;
Of a different time or culture.

Why do you play it so loud?
Making you and your children…
Suffer with the ringing ears!
And me too, you fool!

If I hear it in my crib…
And I never use that word:
I heard it on your rap…
Like it was in my room!

Turn it up louder…
You are in for it!
Out comes my karaoke…
And my singing . . .
My screaming . .
Into a microphone and amp;
Hit Me With Your Best Shot“!
Just for you…
And thank to Heart
If Looks Could Kill

Haha, you’re now dead!
If not my singing voice;
Maybe face-melting rock!
Now, have some fucking respect!
Turn down the music…
The music I did not buy;
The music I did not choose…
I don’t live in a damn club!

SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

>> My anthem to neighbors who love to play their music so loud, it sounds like it’s in my room! <<

Into the Virtual (Hour Five)

Give me earth on hands,

Streaked on faces,

Give me soot from a cooking fire,

Give me stitching what’s been torn.

Let me move the elements of the Earth,

Which still make up this body.

We are fading away into the virtual.

Why ever would we seek to lose the caressing of the air on our skin,

Sweat breaking there,

Why ever would we choose to wipe our minds clean,

Like old hard drives,

Of ancient knowledge earned at such a cost?

Back in the Day

Back in the day I had to put this pen to paper just to tell you that I love you

Now I can just send a text

I used to wait for my grandma to get off of the phone

so that I could dial into the internet

Now we are consumed by bluetooth

wireless headset and handsfree devices

Technology has taken over our lives

Children don’t talk to parents

husbands don’t talk to wives

but what we once we lived without

we surely can’t live without it……

Morning Blank

I wake up

Not knowing what day it is

Am I to get ready for

Am I to get to chores

I lay here, confused

But my first thought is

Let’s relieve my bladder

No toilet paper?

Splash warm water in my face

I drooled extra today

The peasy crown on my head

The mirror doesn’t lie

A camera always flips the pic

Hour 5 – Prompt 5 – Technology – “Bridge”

Fifty students in each section
and three such sections in the class

With tears in their eyes, shake
each other’s hands and hug tight

As standard ten comes to a close
and high school opens its door

They know they will separate,
unsure when they will meet next

For nearly fifteen years they were together,
where will life take, each of them, in future?

That was the question foremost in their minds,
they walked into the mist that life had in store

Fifteen years later…

They have come together with the help
of Facebook, Whatsapp, LinkedIn, Instagram

They look different, they have stories to share
Yet, they bond with each other, as if never apart

Their dream to stay in contact has come true
Technology, man’s progression, bridges the miles
