there’s always a new

Hey all….looking forward to spending a chunk of time this weekend on my balcony, looking at the lake, doing what I love…
Only a couple of more days before the Poetry Marathon and I am sorting out how to make certain I have enough caffeine and stamina to make it 24 hours of writing! Truth be told, I believe this is going to be a delightful time and no matter what happens, I will have spent some great time with words, rhythms, and just the spirit dance that poetry can be. I have a list of words from my word of the day collection that I hope to incorporate in poems or make up poems about!
I am very much looking forward to seeing others work and welcome ANY comments on mine that anyone would care to share.
Until Saturday at 0800 local (CDT),
I say, cliché though it be,
Write on!

Hi, my name is Hailey! I live on the east coast where I am a full time student. I am participating in the full length marathon. I currently work at a local newspaper; however, fiction is what I love the most. I am currently in the editing process of one novel and the first draft of a second. I am also working on short stories and poetry. My website will be launching soon so keep an eye out for www.sleepwalkingprose.com. I hope to learn a lot and really challenge myself throughout this process.
Testing for Saturday. 😊

This is the second time I’m doing the marathon and hoping a different writing style manifests. God bless!
J.I. Kleinberg tears up magazines to make found poems, which are often posted on chocolate is a verb, and writes an almost-daily blog on poetry in the Cascadia region: The Poetry Department. She lives in Bellingham, Washington, and doesn’t own a television. 2016 is her first Poetry Marathon.

I am Sammy and this is my first Poetry Marathon. I am excited. I am currently living in Scotland and writing from the St Andrews Brewing Company. They are sponsoring me on my poetry marathon.
I have just graduated from the University of St Andrews and waking up to the world around me. I have a blog called Literary Pixie, where I publish reviews, poems, essays, and other things that I am working on.
Some of my poetry influences are Joanne Kyger, Mina Loy, H.D., Allen Ginsberg, and Audre Lorde.
