HOUR TWENTY-ONE ~ Unnecessary Gravitational (Conversational) Roughness

UNNECESSARY GRAVITATIONAL ROUGHNESS

.                       (CONVERSATIONAL)

I can make jokes about it

I can even craft a script to include every egg,

and I’ll make them crack themselves up.

But instead I dance around your eggshells,

I hold up your umbrella in the rain. I remind you

to pick up almond milk for morning coffee.

Every day you remind me a little more of my mother.

I’m not saying I hate you.

I’m just saying, someday,

I’ll stop answering the phone.

**BREVITY FOR THE SAKE OF THE PROMPT, SECOND VERSION: 54 Words including the title which surely shouldn’t count 😉 **

UNNECESSARY GRAVITATIONAL ROUGHNESS

          (CONVERSATIONAL)

I’ll make jokes,

craft scripts highlighting every egg,

and they’ll crack themselves up.

Every day you remind me more of my mother.

Hour 14

Born into a den,

thrown into a foreign land

Walking through the depths

of the night on the big city streets.

He walked and made enemies

Where ever he went

He learned to walk his own path

He turned foes to friends.

He descended into the abyss

Faced fears, and learned that he can

Live with wound and be reborn

A new man

Leviathan (Hour 17)

They call you leviathan,

drinker of the ocean,

ruler of the deep,

eater of countless fish,

belching out your satisfaction

in tsunamis and earthquakes,

yet your majesty remains

questionable

ridiculous,

for he who must rule

should rule in entirety

the oceans still swirl proudly

the waters remain in countless volumes

and you have not yet drank it all up

the sea life still flourishes

the fauna and its beauty.

the mermaids still hold court

in the palaces of the sea,

and you, leviathan, who do you rule over?

it tells, therefore, of a greater Being,

Creator of it all, the Almighty

in the tiniest of whose hands

the entire universe remains,

before whom the leviathan

is but a tiny ant.

No. 21: A Successful Day

Some people feel they have to be
Regaled and entertained on a daily basis
Life is boring without some challenge or excitement
To get their adrenaline flowing or hold their interest

I prefer the mundane comfort of my
Daily routine knowing what to expect
Completing tasks - or not - and
Not worrying about the consequences

I am delighted and surprised
When such mundane efforts are achieved
And to know that this day
Has been a complete success

Umbrella

I was not born to be a calm sea
I was born to be a hurricane
I never wanted you get to caught up in my heavy rain
Lost to the puddles as the current overflows
Share my umbrella it’s just you and me

Rain, Beautiful Rain!

Then, hide from the rain!
I shout to those whose job
is to keep their jobs
at all costs to we the people.

You, whose umbrella policies
invade and degrade the lives
of those who pay your way.

Hide from the rain!
It’s coming.

Prompt 21 – Ella and her Fella

Prompt Twenty-One – Write a poem that’s no more than 50 words, but one of those words must be either umbrella, or almond.

Ella and her Fella

There once was a girl called Ella
Who was madly in love with her fella.
But when her almond-shaped eyes
Saw through his two-timing lies,
She shafted his bum with her umbrella.

Hour 21 : Cookie

I know not how to bake a cookie

Scared of the crumbs that fall off

They taste so sweet and precious

A mix of chocolate almonds and raisins

Crunch is the sound it makes

Hot chocolate oozing

I am not perfect and so aren’t you

Cracked and broken like me.
