Hi everyone! 😊 I completed my PhD on contemporary feminist literature (namely fairy tale revisions) in 2018 at Ulster University, Northern Ireland. Since completing my PhD I started to write poetry and have had pieces published in various journals. I also recently returned from a year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I was the 2019-20 Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence for both the University of Tulsa and Tulsa Community College. Having now returned to my home place in Northern Ireland, I’m currently working on my first poetry book but I struggle to balance my time between both academic and creative writing, so I’m hoping the Marathon will give me a bit of a kick start to establish a more regular and committed creative writing routine. A whole 24 hours to focus solely on my poetry is a very welcome opportunity for me! I look forward to meeting wonderful creatives and reading your work.
