this is my first erasure poem – more frustrating than a found poem because I’d like to move lines around, format and punctuate differently!!!
I agree that this was a wonderful way to spend a day and I so appreciate your comments on my work! I also agree that with found poems there is more freedom but you have done a great job with this one. The extended metaphor for life – how often are we in distress and people who could help us just pass us by or don’t notice us. The last line was poignant: if we stop to listen, what cry might come to us out of the deep. This piece resonated with me – thank you!
