We are very happy to announce that the 2020 Poetry Marathon Anthology is going to happen! We had announced earlier that it would not be a part of this year’s events.
But after much ongoing discussion and after securing a generous private donation and contributing to that donation ourselves we are able to offer $550 dollars for someone to edit the anthology.
The Poetry Marathon Anthology is some writer’s first publication, and others’ hundredth, but it is always a clear representation of the range of people who participate in the event.
We have found an editor to work on the anthology this year. A huge thank you to everyone who applied.

There is a new optional prompt posted every hour.
Yay!! š„°š„³
Iām so glad this turned out; and best of luck to everyone!
Thrilled there will be an anthology. The anthology editor always has my endless gratitude; I know the work involved.
May I make a request to whomever designs the cover? I appreciate the nod to some diversity on the 2019 cover and enjoyed the cleverness of the illustration. But can the 2020 cover represent more of the diversity of participants — ethnicity, location (geographical as well as urban, suburban, rural), etc. — if you depict people or residential places?
Also, how much more would it take (money and effort) to have a scattering of B&W illustrations on the pages? I have no skill in that area but I believe some participants do and may be willing to donate, make contributions from which the editor can choose.
That is a good idea but I don’t think there will be any people on the cover this year š The top three options I have so far are all uninhabitable.
In terms of time we are barely scraping by this year, we have two kids at home, schooling, and full time work. I really wish we could add art and are barely swinging this as is. Fundraising take time and effort. Just the simple normal layout takes us about 10 hours.
I understand.
