The Goddess

She is a goddess and the stars are alive on her skin.
The oceans are alive in her eyes and I’m outside her walls just dying to be let in.
She is a never ending dose of sunshine.
A daydream that has come to life.
And when she is away it is the darkest moon you’ll ever know.
She pours herself into your veins.
Plants a garden within your heart watching the roots dig in.
You might fight back but you will never win.

  1. Oh! This sounds really interesting!!
It’s well written, of course, and the flow and rhyme are perfect, but the expressions… they are absolutely beautiful.. visually amazing. Especially the lines- “the stars are alive on her skin”, “A daydream that has come to life”, and “Plants a garden within your heart watching the roots dig in”.
If you don’t mind, can you please tell more about your inspiration behind this poem?
