The Wolves run wild as the blue moon rises
It moves slowly across the sky
big and bright and full of light
the moon
not alone
with the constellations and planets.
all going around
making no sound
but always shining bright above.

I’m intrigued by the opening “Wolves run wide” and wonder where they went under the blue moon light?!? So many ways into a poem. As a moon-watcher and -poem-maker, I appreciate this. Thank you.
Thank you Sarah for reading my poem. I am glad it caught your eye.
I was wondering if you knew of other contests like this marathon
Heather, one of the long-running participants runs a ‘quarter crazy marathon’ – check out Facebook; and/or contact Amanda Potter via this site. What’s lovely is that this is not a contest so much as a challenge. There are many MANY sites that offer prompts; but this is unique in its community-building aspect. I imagine Amanda does something similar, it having sprung from this one. SO much fun!!! Then, of course, there are online communities that write together over the long haul. Contests are a whole ‘nother kettle of fish. Good luck and happy poeming!!!
Thank you for getting back to me and I am sorry for my late response.
I did look up the quarter-crazy marathon. I look forward to trying it out. I am trying to write as many poems as I can and make a book of them one day.
Doesn’t have to be a big book but a simple one for others to enjoy.
Take care
