Only once have I spoken with someone
who truly seemed to believe the world is
flat
With great sincerity he spoke of pie-crust
geology keeping oceans in – like unbaked
quiche
When asked what he saw looking over
the edge – ‘clouds. no idea where the rain
falls.’
Sensing our dubious looks he suggested
going to see for ourselves, but Expedia was
booked
Apparently you can’t get there from here
let alone theological implications – where is
hell?
While I put little stock in pie theory, I can
say a good cherry with sugared crust is
heavenly.

Great to have you back Mark. I love your wit and humour!! Pie crust geology-lol! Great poem!
Thank, Ingrid! Nice to be back and to see you here as well. Glad you liked this one.
Great poem Mark. I went with a pie analogy for this one too.
Ha! I read that after seeing your comment. ‘Great minds’ eh?
‘Apparently you can’t get there from here.’ That sums it up nicely, I’d say. But now you’ve got me hankering after a good cherry pie. Good work!!! Thank you.
Thanks, Sarah. And yeah…now I want pie, too!
The ending is parfait! Had to add the dessert pun lol! I love the ending! Clever poem and I love your lines
‘With great sincerity he spoke of pie-crust

Thanks, Siobhan!
