The stars twinkled bright

Peppered across the night sky

Moonbeams reflecting off the ripples on the lake

Forming dancing shadows in the clearing

 

She smiled up at him

As he sat down beside her

And they passed time in deep conversation

Talking about everything and nothing

 

The stars slowly disappeared

Leaving the sun to light up the sky

They just laughed at each other

Strangers they were the night before

And that morning they had become so much more
