Toddling down the pavement

Her grandfather struggling to keep up

Her pigtail bobs atop her head

As she jumps in excitement

Giggles filling the air around the duo

Her hand is wrapped in her grandfather’s

Her excitement knows no bounds

She’s in the place of all sweet dreams

A toothy smile across her face

As she’s grinning from ear to ear

Taking In all the sweet sights

She leaves the store with the same grin

Cheeks flushed and a slight shiver

But her arms hold bags of candy

And her smile never wavers
