Hour 8..

love..happened in a fleeting moment

by chance on a lonely roadside

it climed mountains

crossed rivers

it laughed in the pouring rain, running hand in hand for shelter

love… stayed on even when she was alone

in her body

in thier house

in her tears, as they fell in all the memories that followed

love… grew a new shape

a new melody

and sung a new rythem each day that dawned

Lords

Found rings control the future.

Separated the ideals.

Come together for a common goal.

An adventure that is paralleled in the world.

Love, loss, emotions, betrayal.

War leading to peace.

The ring is destroyed at the cost of many.

New love overcomes adversity and once enemies that fought for a common goal are now friends with respect.

A Time—Constraint of the Ego

The Ego appeared and spoke to me

Saying, “I” now wish to be heard

In a time that is of now—presently

In a time that’s yet conquered

The Ego’s debut

Appearing at hour nine

For as the ninth letter is said to construe

The “I” of what’s possessed by time

The Ego raised itself to say—

For it is “I” who (presently) speak these words

For “I” am also often found to convey

Time that’s said to move backwards

For the verb is found in times past

The tense that speaks of me

But when the motion of what “I” had cast

Spoken of time that’s been—done already

“I” linger in time that’s passed

Things— already achieved

Done— and yet am now surpassed

By the conjunction of an “am” presently relieved

Hour 8_from 2 very different books

#1
cherished stuffed rabbit
shabby from loving, tossed out
sheds tear, becomes real.

#2
Wartime
soldiers soldier on
enduring violence
degradation
defeat
Superior Officers
look elsewhere
for victory
trading lives for ambition
numbers of bombing missions
for letters to mothers
To call the situation crazy
is normal
To feign insanity
is not believable
This is the Catch-22
To stay alive
is a trade
with death
and your closest comrades
To escape
requires more than cunning
it requires you to master
the very machinery
that keeps you
at your mercy
And in this last mission
your very life
and the lives of those in your squadron
demand your success.

Be Normal

Why can’t you be normal?

What is normal?
I mean really
Where is the exact description
The written down prescription
For normal

Who are you to say what is normal?
We can’t all do the same things
Or have the same skills
The same abilities
Or the same disabilities

Why must we be normal?
What is the strength
In all of us acting exactly the same
None of us being unique
Automatons marching next to each other

Why can’t you be normal?
Because no one is

Not a happy ending, but true

Once I knew a man
I did not know him true.

He took me far
From my boarding school walls
A place I loathed.

He have me a job.
A proposal
Almost a marriage.

He also gave me lies.
He gave me a crazy woman
Wanders my halls at night.
That woman that he gave
That woman was his wife.

I went away from him.
She burnt his life to ash.

I was blinded to him.
He became blinded to all.
He finally marries me
Once his world is made small.

Words

I take refuge

In words

on leaves

on pages

in books

in cafes

any time

any hour

any day

they lead

In and out

of certainty

those words

any will do

they can be caustic

or for comfort or joy

some take flight

others fail

they can make

a difference

they can shine

like the sun

or stars

in the night

simultaneously

for solace and sorrow

they can take

you on adventures

take me away

to and from

reality

when I wake

they are better

than coffee

and sometimes

company

late at night

words are there

for me

when I hesitate

to dream

oliver twist

the door slammed shut

on the lad who asked for more

as he was thrown into the

cold cruel world

only to have other doors open

leading to new friends,new foes

new adventures of life

from boyhood to manhood

in not so merry old  England
