Indelible
You were a gift unlike any other
So special a treasure to discover
Now wrapped in gossamer of gold
Tied with a ribbon of mauve

You were a gift unlike any other
So special a treasure to discover
Now wrapped in gossamer of gold
Tied with a ribbon of mauve
Nectar peach rose
Turn another color
In the sun
The neopbyle of the mornings.
Comfort us in the darkest hours,
A piece of God’s heart,
Looking upon the earth.
Ray’s of Orange hue,
Sparkles our life’s views,
Pure golden light,
Burns with God’s might.
Eastern part of the universe,
Giving strength to us all,
Glowing with the father’s blessings.
A place sitting in the sun
Planted rooted in God’s urn,
Where peace comes in.
Shame, shame, shame.
Sometimes you just need to be taught
What you took on by osmosis
From words, meals and meetings
Isn’t the only way
Or even the best way
To speak, eat, commune
Twenty eight days with little assignments
with a book list and companions who didn’t grow up like you did
Teach how changeable the mind is
Frog came to visit
Late one night
Cat Ambrosia asked
“Are you alright?”
“I’m not sure” said Frog
“Light drew me near-
Window is nice but-
I’m stuck I fear!”
Softly Cat meowed
“Human, please help!
Not the camera!
Don’t make me yelp!”
Too late to vanish
Cat’s eyes went wink
Her reflection gone
With just a blink
I want to fall
to see where it takes me
Instead
I scurry to the next rock
and leap on faith
hoping it will contain
me for today
My eyes play tricks on me more often than they used to. Let’s get real — it’s probably
my brain playing the trickster, not my doing-the-best-they-can peepers. Is this poetry
prompt a mailbox? I asked my husband, warming up to the possibility of writing that
Trump/DeJoy diatribe that wells up most days, when I see the paucity of contents in
our locking mailbox. No, the image is the view from a back seat. I guess I’m getting
positive and negative space confused. The ‘Golden Gate Bridge in fog’ image I thought
was painted on metal is the reality outside the metal car box. I could dredge up some
old memories about crossing that bridge, but I’ll save them for the next time I come to it.
Text Prompt
Write a poem about walking without ever using the world walking in it.
Where do you go when
anywhere will do?
Lost in the moment.
Knowing it’s worth it to follow your shadow.
Inside you keep pushing for just a bit more.
Nothing is more important than to just keep
Going.
A little step is a process
Everyone has their own steps
No need to rush
We will reach the other side at the right time
Enjoy the process
Feel the breeze while sipping a hot coffee
Relax your mind
Take some breath
Prepare your heart
The day is starting
I hope today is a your day
When you’re footloose and fancy free
Do a little shuffling off to Buffalo with me.
If perhaps you’re want to wend or wander,
Along a trail that gives you much to ponder.
We’ll promenade or per chance take a stroll.
Along Broadway’s Boulevard, away we’ll go.
Tread the boards or take a hike along a trek
Like Marco Polo from Italy to China and back.
