MAMA GAIA’S GOT HER EYES ON YOU – Hour 22

MAMA GAIA’S GOT HER EYES ON YOU

You say God of the Gaps with such derision

Like maybe you think you’re talking about high-priced denim

or a cardigan for your shoulders but not your arms.

Like maybe you think the gaps themselves are at fault,

or that a time is coming when everything will be known.

For starters it’s Goddess of the Gaps but you’re checked out already

I can tell because I knew another man just like you once

You won’t want to hear about what happened to him

because it’s too crude

and too topical. Your thoughts are manifesting your entire world,

whether or not you think you really mean it.

You call it Reasoned Logic

I call it an Anti-Magick Aura

If you were honest with your doubts you’d sniff to the science

Hunt down the juicy bone of uncertainty and tear it to pieces

You don’t like quantum mechanics either, just like him

that man I’m not going to tell you about

because you’ll make it personal just like he did.

the symmetry is undeniable

in elements, in atoms, in storms

in intention and action

even in a face

even in the eye itself

this world blinks at you around every corner

and your bizarre audacity stares back

cynical clinical procedural proctologist

pronouncing the Earth Herself: Dead On Arrival

because only Her deadness gives you diamonds and oil

and you won’t even talk about how that makes you out to be

some kind of extra warped anthropological necrophiliac

and that’s why Mama Gaia’s got her eyes on you.

Hour 22; Prompt 22: For Every Lock; A Key

They named is Keyhole Rock
A formation thousands, maybe millions of years old
At certain times of the day, sunlight shines through
Revealing an inner chamber

But that chamber lasts for but a few moments
If you walk inside
You are met with
Some say a room of natural crystals
Precious and innumerable

There are others that say it is just a formation of rock
Naturally beautiful
But, just a rock formation
That looks “pretty” a couple times a day

I like to think there is more in there
Something of true substance
That can neither be coveted by hand
Or recalled in detail enough
To do it justice

Perhaps, it is a doorway
To another world?
Giving credence to its name
Keyhole Rock
As if, by walking through
You unlock something

Perhaps to the world?
Or to yourself?
Perhaps, one day, I’ll find out
One day

Poem 10, Prompt 22

A single feather is all it takes
To tip the scales
And bring royals to their knees
The straw that broke the camel’s back
The drop that made the cup run over
The pea that rendered the princess immeasurable pain

A butterfly living in Brazil
May flap its wings
And start a tornado in Texas
A snowflake that causes an avalanche
A spark that ignites a forest fire
An idea that brings about an entire revolution

One lone individual
With fire in their heart
Can change the course of history
The peasant girl leading the French to victory
The explorer who believes the world is round
The person who might be you who could do anything

Painted Morning

straight up turquoise sky
hovering at horizon line baby pink
where they kiss- cotton candy and downy white
the waters reflect teal-grean
island close scalene triangle
glued to its reflection, a kite
half fuzzy far-off purple
half distorted deep green
faint ridges in the distance
speak of lands unexplored
for some other mornings
this, now, is the beginning

Majestic Caves

In a land far away,

Dreamlike fantasies play

Looking out of, the

majestic castle cave

Mountainous waters,

Flow, rushing over

Creating mystic sounds

As the light breaks

Her hallowed ground

Inside nestled stone,  lies cold

The Wall

A glimpse of the other side
gives way to full view.
An interloper can observe
with circular arguments
and telescopic focus
the secret garden
on the other side.
(There is always another side.)
Nothing left to the imagination.
Perhaps they are rabbit holes.

Are they holes at all?
Perhaps they are more
openings than holes.
It’s late and
I don’t want to get into
knotholes that are not holes,
unless there are not knots
in them.
(The opening was there and
I took it.)

Our minds look for what isn’t,
until we train ourselves to be grateful
for what we have.
Until then, we waste our time,
wanting what isn’t there,
Realizing it is only a wall.
(This makes me think of
The Beatles.)
(I love to turn you on.*)

Prompt 22 ~ Post # 22 ~Called To Write

I remember many years ago

When I felt God call me to write.

I was leaving the last day of my work

And I could not believe the site.

I found a perfect quill feather

as I labeled it to be.

Sitting on the ground

as it was speaking to me.

That this was not just a feather

but a confirmation too.

That it was the perfect time

to leave and do what I was called to do!

I Long To Be On A Ship Right This Moment

I long to be on a ship right this moment
And watch the men work in merriment
As the anchor is secured the seagulls visit
Not minding the intense afternoon heat

As the ship voyages the vast horizon
The world unfolds clouds move in unison
Then the lights flicker as the ship moves farther
Then the lights are replaced by the moonlight after

Peaceful serene we will drink with the moon
We’ll pay tribute to Lipo and his love for the moon
We’ll invite love and the angels to sit among us
And enjoy the moment as the new day comes

I long to be on a ship right this moment
Because husband it is you I long to be with
If only this is true what else can I say
I am happier,oh happiest, my heart’s-a-sashay
