This “bop” ain’t the top /hr3

If you wanna

Stop mass shootings

there is but one thing to do

have those who do all the ruling

have to have kids

In public school too

Get your killing out of our lives

If you wanna

Stop your kids from

Bein shipped out

Used up

As if disposable

Mandate that their kids

Are the first paper towel roll

To be replaced

Get your killing out of our lives

Stop the war and killing and hate

The finning of sharks and

bear cubs killed and pups

We are after all

Earths one and only

Human Race.

Get your killing out of our lives

The Climb – Hour 5 Prompt

As the journey concludes, I stand at the peak
As I gaze o’er the valley below
The sunbeams, a shadow of where I have been
Their light, signs of where I’m to go
For while here on top, where I can touch the sky
I am left with a yearning for more
The first step, admitting willingness to try
With a far greater purpose in store

The fog with the cleaning, a symbol of hope
Reflections of a past I’ve defeated
Success amid life’s most slippery slope
And though, it may sound quite conceited
I’m left wanting more, in this life I can choose
Having scaled o’er that chosen for me
For here at the peak, I have nothing to lose
But a future I’ve destined to be

So as I reflect on the ways I have risen
Grateful to have done so and grown
I will bid adieu to this unwanted prison
And make each new moment my own
The future is calling, I’ll answer its challenge
And take it one step at a time
For here, I am free from the unspoken damage
And blessed to have mastered the climb

Hour 5: To the Stars

I grew up in the city

Our skies glowed with pity

Lit up with banished dreams

And darkness disguised

The skies advised,

Somewhere, a ship full of stars capsized

So I traveled with longing

A necessary yearning

Walked past abandoned shrubs,

Past sirens calling,

Forests howling

Until I arrived at the junction

Of a 100 sunsets, and another 100 sunrises

Their meeting set fire to the sky

And it glowed, burned and shone like it had never before

I had arrived at the shore,

To where dreams drifted away

And turned into stars

Worlds

Some say that there are many worlds,

not just our planet Earth.

God, I hope it’s true.

I hope that somewhere,

humans or something like humans

have done Life right,

because we certainly haven’t.

I hope somewhere

there’s a world not governed

by lust and greed and hate.

It gives me hope to think it.

#4. Dear Mama

How could I know
the last time we hugged
would be forever?
How can it be
I will no longer see
your hands, your eyes, your smile?
I can still hear your whistle
(in the end, so soft like a whisper, but there, nonetheless)
I treasure your cards,
your writing an art, like calligraphy.
And the words they contain,
full of love to sustain and inspire me.
You were the grandmother of my children’s dreams…
embracing and creating where their fathers could not be.
Oh mama, it seems only yesterday
we drank tea on your balcony
there, in the evening desert warmth.
Thank you for accepting me, as myself.
Thank you for growing and raising your compassion
And modeling
the grace
of being.
I remain,
Forever Yours.

Sap

Longing for a Love

That,

once in a lifetime

Everlasting

Shaped from the crusted blood

Of old wounds

That expose us

The beauty, of

Our scarred souls

Everchanging

Hidden in plain sight

Beneath the wooded exterior

Who has the eyes to notice

Who carries that same solace

Tis they who will see

All that we are

All we can be

That is the Love

I long for

Thee

H.5 – Branch and Sky

We lay entwined,  skin breathing skin,

gazing upon  branch and sky,

We danced to each other’s  dreams,

growing  vast beneath branch and sky

Our murmers  directions to the earth

a map, a pattern , to be stitched from

branch and sky.

When love leaves l will sleep safe , in

my cadge  of branch and sky.

Poem #5, You’re Magic, RedStar

Get out of your head and into your heart.

Call in the light to see in the dark.

Remember your essence, remember the truth.

Nothing and no one can take that from you.

Feed your soul with poetry and song

Laugh til it hurts and dance up a storm.

Love, love, and love some more.

Give what you’ve got without concern for tomorrow.

Believe in your brilliance and let yourself shine.

You’re magic, kid, and that’s no lie.

Chaos

billiant diamonds crash

across vastness of pitch void,

creation dancing

What I see above me…

Stretching towards the sun
Like long leafy fingers
Garnished with autumnal hues
The remnant of spring that lingers

Above my head as I look up
It seems go on up forever
Trying to grasp the endless sky
In a truly doomed endevour

What do I feel as I stare
Up at this hypnotising sight
Is it a wondering at nature
Or do I wish for the gift of flight

But as I lay back, I realise
Why I’m looking at this angle
While staggering home I hit a tree
Now I’m on my back, my limbs in a tangle

I’m drunker than I thought…
