Thicker Than Water

He and I share the same blood type and later we will share the same last name.
By choice I gave him my heart and waited for the indescribable rain.
The storm which never came and the tears didn’t fall.
I am with him when I’m not and I answer when he doesn’t call.

The telepathic way I sense the touch of his breath on my cheek.
The distance is somehow bearable and strangely unique.
I would be content in life just laying at his feet.
Deeper than love his joy creates happiness and his pain creates trouble.
Thicker than water his soul is attached to my spirit and the vibrations of his conviction compels me to protect him as if I were his brother.

Ancient Myths

Studying the synchronicity

Reading a lot of lore

I came to believe in mystical beings

Goddesses and unicorns, of yore

Colors, rocks and many a thing

All different in their meaning

Symbolism galore

Yes, I read the ancient runes and tarot

Own a dozen sets or more

Divinity through seeing

A witch’s greatest strength

Opening loves universal door

Adventure Time

Through the soft wind
She rode her bike
With the speed of light
Or what she would like to think
Sparkling eyes tell of hopeful thoughts
Maybe, maybe today she can finally find it
Reaching her destination
She alights the vehicle gracefully
Or what she would like to think
And with staggering feet
With extra hopping here and there
She reached where she wanted to be
Barging into the library she went to
A particular spot hidden behind contemporary
Searching for one particular prize
She almost squealed when she found it
There, she thought, now I have it
Gazing lovingly at The Tale Of Genji.

Continental Drift

The sun rises on grated brick

As I skip

To the click

And beat of my feet

Placed within my shoes made by an Indian woman

Who is just like you.

I carry a stone of green, malachite.

It’s used so that my heart’s passion may be seen

By anyone or anything who tries to intervene

I am fuerte, strong.

I am in Chile, but not for long.

I wait for the metro and clutch the bracelet

That I purchased in a Russian park made of garnet.

My jeans from Holland hug my thighs tight

As if to keep my warmth safe from another’s intentions, dare if they might.

I am fuerte, strong.

I am in Chile, but not for long.

I travel in the physical, my exterior shows,

In my clothes and accessories, all the places I’ve known.

But my heart is what carries

All that I’ve seen

From mountains to cities,

My memory’s pristine.

I am fuerte, strong.

I am on Earth, but not for long.

it is not a sin to wear pants

it is not a sin to wear pants
Mulan, St. Joan of Arc, Marinus, Pope Joan, Anne Bonny
it is not a sin to wear pants

to disguise yourself
as a man
to do the things
peculiarly
reserved for men,
it is not a sin to wear pants

to be pirate or priest
or military might
to study in university
to travel in safety
or farm on you own,
it is not a sin to wear pants

be subversive, oh, be subversive
claim what is yours
live what you dream
pave for the next generation
or mine,
it is not a sin to wear pants

one day little girls
will be inspired by you
your courage
your creativity
your persistence,
and they will wear pants
but not in disguise
it is not a sin to wear pants

The Spirit of Oi

The name is ‘Oi’ – if you please! be rid of me and be done with death and disease. The Massai of Kenya doth truly believe, the spirit of an illness lives as its disease

cleanse ye house of all’s inside, so that death and its remnants have non place to hide

across mighty waters these tales did travel – not lost in the Bermuda Triangle, not a stitch did unravel

Riddled with disease as a termite through wood, wholes in your bones – no drug will do ye good.

life unpacked as the long truck in the alley is hooked up

drums, tambourines, music and a few other things

house swept clean of all your things.

when death comes seeking, it’ll find you not weeping.
