Escaped blueberry dilemma #18

Escaped blueberry dilemma

A blueberry rolled across the kitchen floor

But I am too tired to get it

It looks like a good one

Large round juicy and sweet

I have the whip cream here

In my right hand ready to smother

These captured berries in this glass bowl

I pause wondering if I will get

That fat berry across the room

Not wanting it to go to waste

Exhausted I lean against the

Formica counter hoping to

Be rescued by a decisive thought

the diner

the girl child wakes first

vegetarian

she’ll need her own lunch

also gluten-free

she reminds you the importance of buying cage-free eggs

you remind her that all her frees really don’t come free

the oldest boy child wakes next

and beats the girl child to the counter

all carnivore

needs lunch for two today

he is eating with his companion at the senior center

his treat

he’s chosen bacon mac and cheese, and peach pie

the youngest boy child wakes last

and is the last one to the counter

which he calls an island in the kitchen

he’d like the leftover wings from last night

and a large glass of milk

for breakfast!

whatever happened to toast?

his lunch today,

your mashed potatoes with green olives and sunflower seeds

and the peaches not in the pie

for yourself it is just coffee

whatever they don’t eat

but you draw butterflies on each brown lunch bag

you don’t care that they are all teenagers now

this is your diner

the only diner they’ve ever know

and in this diner, the doggie bags come with doodles by mom

Reciprocity

The importance in finding love

is knowing once found it is reciprocated

Yes, reciprocity is the answer key to love

the foundation it is built on and the bridge it crosses over to get to the other side

Dear Darling #21

Dear Darling I seen you with her today,

So I am writing this poem to say,

I can’t let you marry me any more ,

I love you , but I must walk out the door.

Dear Darling I am sad you had to mess this up,

yet I am good enough to wish you the best of luck,

I wish I had never met you because I am sad,

I am sorry you are another to turn out so bad.

Dear Darling I want you to know I am dying,

Please do not come to me crying,

There is nothing to be done,

I just wanted you to know Hun.

Dear Darling do not come back , okay?

I think it will be easier this way,

So take it easy and love our girl,

remember that you both are my world.

Hearts

Heal our heart’s from hate.

Replace hate to love.

For our souls.

Bring our hearts.

To love.

Music that your heart.

Makes for us.

Early Morning

So quiet

So dark

The sun had not reached the horizon

But the moon has long since

Abdicated the sky

Stars shine their brightest

And for the briefest of moments

All is still

All is calm

All things are possible

why I write

All the words I’ve left unsaid

are swirling ’round inside my head

if I’m to put these words to bed

i have to write them out.

My wild imaginings exist

where lovers hands and lips are kissed

and mighty hero’s, sorely missed

if I don’t write them out.

Characters sown, in words are grown

enduring as though carved in stone

and I will never be alone

if I just write them out.

I write to give my voice a home,

I build it up; tome by tome

in saga, song or simple poem

I love to write it out.

night is for sleeping

Night is for sleeping,

not worrying, or weeping.

Night is for dreaming,

for healing, believing.

It gives itself over

to Sun for

safe~keeping

Night is for subconsciousness,

it’s sorting, and up~keeping.

Night is for deliverance~

Night is for Sleeping.

Moonlight prompt 12th hour

A night at the lake

on a date with a man

who knows how to

court a woman

spare me the jokes

will you

no really he actually

planned out the date

with precision and

perfection might I add

he picked me up in

his jeep at 7 precisely

and we drove out to

the lake

he grabbed a blanket and

a basket and a stereo

which was classic

and we laid out in the grass

for hours talking about

the guts and the glory

of making it in this

world of crazy people

he was a gentleman

and a comedian

my radar of this

is too good to be true

had me in a panic again

but I wasn’t going to

ruin this good thing

wasn’t like I was looking

for the night to end

in a proposal and a ring

just wanted to enjoy the

man, who took the time

to make sure that our

night was right and

it was, as the sun dipped

below the hills

and the  moonlight rose

to greet us goodnight

Not me

This home( body) is not mine
this self is not mine
knock knock
Who’s there?

Not me,
Not mine,
Not myself

I am here with no attachments.
